My coworker just told me its korean thanksgiving tomorrow or maybe today and he gave out the korean rice sweets ( can't remember the name but they are diamond shaped) I love them but what is the actual name of the holiday and the name of the rice cake sweet

@Danizaur: Yes, that's right! And those rice cakes are called "dduk". Pronounced like "duck" but with more of a "t" sound in the front.

hehe. dduk is so pretty but I do not like it! Such a tease... looks sweet and delicious but it's really just chewy and filled with sesame, chestnut, or red bean!! (my taste buds are soooo not korean because most koreans looooove dduk!)
