Did you watch? What do you think of Brian being gone?
Brian is one of my favorite characters. I love that he has human-like intelligence but still is oh-so dog like.
I hope it's not a permanent change.

I don't watch the show anymore, but I'm sad he's gone. He and Stewie were my favorites.
In his honor, the clip that never fails to make me laugh:

We missed it last night because we went to see Catching Fire but DH is a big Family Guy fan.
I wonder what he'll say about Brian being gone.
I'm not a huge fan of FG but I'll watch it when he has it on. I know I'll miss Brian.

@bluestriped bee: My DH hasn't watched it, yet, and I'm wondering if he has heard the news, yet. I want to email him and tell him but I think I'll wait til he gets home and ask if he's heard about it, yet. I don't want to spoil it for him if he hasn't watched or heard about it, yet.

@Dandelion: Yeah, I want to tell him, too, but he might yell at me for spoiling. I saw it on FB, so maybe someone on FB will spoil it for him.
Maybe I'll be real vague and ask him he he heard anything about FG last night.

@bluestriped bee: That's what I plan on doing...just ask generally if he heard about it, lol.

@Dandelion: My text conversation early. Oops.
Me: Did you hear anything about the Family Guy episode last night?
DH: No, but I was upset I missed it.
Me: (Going off his last message and assuming he heard.)
Did they really kill him off?
DH: I didn't see it and I don't know what you are talking about.
Me: Oh.... (Uh oh!)
Me: I thought that's why you were upset about missing it.
Ooops. DH didn't know about Brian dying.

We are FG fans but are so behind on so many shows!

Didn't Stewie time travel to the future? So maybe once it's Christmas, old Stewie will time travel to visit and he can tell Old Strewie not to destroy the time machine!

@mrbee: he broke his time machine!
@bluestriped bee: I told dh tonight. Earlier I mentioned a main character was killed off but didn't say who. Then tonight while watching he asked if it was Quagmire. I said no and then he got relieved and said I could tell him lol.
I'm still sad about it!

@mrbee: That was totally my first thought when I read about it! But the episode started off with Stewie destroying his time machine. He tries to fix it to bring Brian back, but he can't do it. And the creator, writers, and the network have all said he's really gone. I can't believe they did it, I was not happy at all!

@wonderstruck: I'm really unhappy about it too. More than I should be over a cartoon lol. But Brian is my favorite!
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@Dandelion: Yah but right after he broke his time machine, he explained to Brian that he had recently time traveled forward to Christmas?
So when it's Christmas, Stewie can make sure to intercept the old Stewie and warn him not to destroy his time machine.

DH kept saying "Stewie will re-build the machine and go back and save him!" Pretty sure he's in denial and that Brian will come back. So sad.
Anyone know why they killed him? To change it up? Or are they bringing him back?

@wonderstruck: Here's the quote from E Online:
<< We can't believe that Brian is gone! What led you to make this crucial decision for the series?
Steve Callaghan: Well, this was an idea that got pitched in the writers room and it sort of caught fire, and we thought it could be a fun way to shake things up. As soon as this idea came up, we started talking about what the next couple episodes could be and we got very excited about the way this change will affect the family dynamics and the characters. >>
So I'm guessing that the next few episodes will deal with the aftermath, and then the Christmas episode will restore Brian!

What??? Brians gone? Wahhhh.. That is crazy! I always thought of him as a main character. Maybe he is getting his own show like Cleveland?

@mrbee: I was wondering about the time machine, too!
ETA: I hope you are right and they bring Brian back.
I'm not even a big FG fan but I still loved Brian. I love when he did things that a real dog would do. Like trying to stand in a moving car.
