What age do kids typically learn to tie shoes? I think I was 5 when I learned, but I think it would be helpful if LO learned before Kindergarten next year. Are there fun ways to teach this? Videos/books/songs?

DD learned at 5, but her school still requested us to send velcro shoes in since they change into house shoes and also need to wear inside gym shoes. So that's a lot of changes!

@Bao: Oops, sorry, I can't take credit. A first grader taught her on the school bus! I can only assume that it was a bunch of practice for a couple of days.

DD learned in like 5 minutes a couple weeks before she started kindergarten!
I taught her the bunny ears technique -
@Bao: DS learned in 1st grade - it was part of homework every Thursday
I taught him the way I tie my shoes and we just practiced and he figured it out
