Ugh....just realized that I left a frozen bag of chicken wings out on the counter...They are uncooked and they will be out from 7:30-5:30....so 10 hours.
I should just throw them away when I get home shouldn't I?

@Mrs. Pen: That was my reasoning too, I HATE wasting food so this just kills me knowing I just wasted a ton...oh well....better than getting sick!

That's such a bummer. We crab in the summer so I would just throw them in the chest freezer marked with DO NOT EAT - CRAB BAIT but that's probably not an option for you...

Yikes, bummer!! I hate when stuff like this happens. I left some food out overnight once and my husband was INSISTENT that it was still good to eat. I was all "You can eat it, but I'm not going to!"
Best to just throw it out, even though it sucks to watch money go down the drain.

Oh, that totally stinks, I hate wasting food! But to be safe, I wouldn't eat it. I've always been scared of food poisoning but now that fear has grown exponentially after having a LO because I'm scared both me AND DH will get sick and no one will be able to care for LO!

My mom leaves meat out all the time and I've never gotten sick from her cooking. I've gotten severe food poisoning a bunch of times but usually from dining hall food or takeout.

Actually if it was frozen it won't even be fully thawed. When you cook it, it should kill bacteria. I've left meat out overnight before.

My mom leaves out frozen meat all the time to defrost. I don't think it's gross, although I don't do it in my house because it weirds me out but everytime I eat at my moms I know the meat defrosted naturally!

@mrs. wagon: @blackbird: @MrsTiz: My mom too leaves chicken out to thaw all the time so that was in the back of my head. And yes, they were completely frozen. I took them out of the freezer and set them on the counter to make room in the fridge, but got distracted...I might look at the chicken and make a judgement call later.

I always leave chicken/steak out all day (usually in my sink to defrost). I've never had an issue before.

@MrsBrewer: if it's still a bit frozen you might get lucky here! If I were you I'd probably cook the hell out of it just in case, if I did end up using it.

@mrs. wagon: Well we were planning on deep frying it actually. I maybe I will leave them in there for a couple extra minutes!
