I'm 5w4d today and have had light bleeding for the last few hours. I don't really know what to think. I'm guessing it's a miscarriage? I will call a doc tomorrow. I don't know what to think/do til then.

@jedeve: Stay positive! Light bleeding doesn't necessarily mean miscarriage. I had light bleeding around 6 weeks and they never determined the cause and I have a healthy 10 month old now. Fingers crossed it is nothing bad

Wishing you the best and sending positive thoughts and prayers. I had spotting/light bleeding with both of my pregnancies. H is 2.5 and I'm 27 weeks along now. In my case, I had a raging UTI.

Don't give up hope! Light bleeding frequently means nothing, and even heavy bleeding can be ok. I had very heavy bleeds at 6 and 9 weeks and my baby is now 2 months old. Holding onto hope for you!!

Thanks guys. I am cramping too. I don't know if that makes a difference. Ugh. I don't know if I should call the midwife I had for my last two pregnancies. I had been planning on going to a different OB. I don't know if they will see me tomorrow since I'm not already a patient? Or if they would see me at all since it's so early, is there even anything they could do?

@jedeve: I was cramping too, but it was from my infection. Praying and hoping for the best!

I would call first thing in the morning. I hope it's not a miscarriage. Thinking of you.

You might be dehydrated. I was crampy and had light bleeding periodically in my first trimester. I was so scared I'd have a miscarriage, but all is great and my daughter is 17-months-old now!

@jedeve: I had cramping and bleeding at exactly the same time as you. No real cause was ever identified and I bled throughout my first trimester. But baby was and is still growing fine at 32 weeks. Best of luck to you. But please do call your doctor first thing in the morning and get as much rest as you can and stay off your feet.

Kept bleeding over night. Tried calling the new OB's office but they wouldn't see me as a new patient. Will call my midwife's office when they open.

Ugh. My old office wouldn't see me either since they hadn't seen me for this pregnancy yet. WTH?? They already have my medical history. They told me to go to the ER or Urgent Care. I'm not really getting how that would be better than going to the office I've seen for the last two pregnancies. So I drove over to urgent care and it doesn't open for ten more minutes. So now I'm just sitting on their steps waiting.

@jedeve: Ugh, yes, that happened to me too. I was stuck in the ER for six hours. Honestly, I would go there because they will be able to do an ultrasound. I forgot to mention that I had a small subchorionic hemmorage in addition to my UTI.

@jedeve: how frustrating!! FX for good news!
FWIW, Every time I've been pregnant I bled, and I bled the worst with my healthy pregnancies, so it doesn't mean much to me anymore! Hope you can get betas or u/s!

@jedeve: that stinks that both offices are pulling a "call the other". Just a word of caution on urgent care when you're so early in pregnancy. I had bleeding with my pregnancy early on and went to urgent care and they did both an abdominal and a vaginal ultrasound and told me they couldn't find anything/no heartbeat and that I was going to have a miscarriage. I followed up with my OB like 2 days later and their better ultrasound machines and technology had NO issue picking up developmentally appropriate fetal development as well as a heartbeat. My OB said that that wasn't the first time urgent care had mis-diagnosed a miscarriage. My bleeding was caused by a SCH, which the OB's office also picked up and which urgent care missed. So, no matter what they say, I would suggest following up with your normal OB practice for sure. Fingers crossed for you.

Definitely a miscarriage. Nothing on ultrasound. HcG is 10. Fuck. Just sitting here alone. DH is home with kids.
