And has cried so hard she threw up once. 
Is this normal for baby's first cold?
Nothing is working to console her.

The first time is always the roughest and we also had bouts of crying and puking. I hope it only lasts a short while.

She just cried herself to sleep in the car after about 1/2 hr of driving. I know it's silly but I'm freaking out!!

Poor baby. I would keep a close eye on her through the night to see if other symptoms develop. Hope she feels better. It is always hard seeing our LO sick.

Like your dh, my dh is better at dealing with these kind of concerns. My heart breaks and it makes me more sensitive to dealing with it.
