I think it depends on how runny. I know depending on what my son eats his stools change. It can be fairly solid to almost breastfed style again. I only worry if it is green and very runny or it goes for a few days.

Of course, if you are concerned, you can always go into the doctor. I always say the co-pay is worth the peace of mind. Usually our pediatrician tells us it is normal and we move on.

@kokobee: Green poop is poop that has gone through the digestive tract quickly. My son's green stool was from an intollerance to dairy and soy. I also believe (no evidence from doctors) it was also a problem because of the reflux medication we had him on. Oh yeah and is smelled like acid. Green poop can also be a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance because they foremilk is so thin, it just runs through them.

I wouldn't say worried unless you have other symptoms as well. Occasional diarrhea is completely normal from what my doctor always tells me. My son never had normal breastfed yellow stool, screamed constantly, had silent reflux and plummetted from the 50th to the 0.5 percentile. All of those made me worry.

Again, I always say if I am concerned to go to the doctor. Either 1 I am honing my mommy instinct or 2 they will tell me that it is completely normal. It is worth the co-pay for that. If you do go, take one of the diapers with you (or at least a picture).
