My 22-month old: I checked her diaper, she doesn't have any signs of a diaper rash, but she keeps saying that her booty hurts and is a bit miserable right now. I put some butt paste on her but in not really sure what's going on. Any thoughts?

When was her last bowl movement? Could she be constipated? Poor girl

My LO (2.5 years) keeps saying this too. Its not every day but around once a week. Sometimes she says there is a stick in there? Sometimes its a bit red and the diaper creme lotion helps.

@mrsjazz: I'm going to guess constipation. Have you tried giving her some natural laxatives like blueberries?

She pooped this morning! And it was soft. That's why I'm confused. Maybe she has more to do?

Could it be a UTI? She might not be able to differentiate the area of pain? Hope she gets better quickly

What about pinworms? Or some tiny bug that wreaks havoc in babies and LOs. I saw it on a 20/20 type show. If you put a flashl I get down there you would be able to see them move. The babies and tots kept scratching though.
Anal fissures. Tiny little cuts can be painful.

@sea_bass: Her nanny's going to let me know if she complains about it hurting throughout the day. UTI could be a possibility since she was touching in the general vicinity.

I'm thinking constipation too. When I was little I was constipated and cried for my mom. There was really nothing she could've done in that moment
