LO has a double ear infection and a cold. He fell asleep for his afternoon nap at 3pm, woke briefly at 6pm (I nursed and gave him his meds) and then went back to sleep! Am I in for the worst night ever? I'm terrified he's going to wake up at 3am for the day! Not to mention he most likely REALLY is going to need a new diaper in a few hours...Has your LO ever done this? I didn't want to wake him from his nap since he's sick...

Yep, DS has done this. Sometimes sleep is the best medicine!
One time he was really sick and fell asleep for nap with his regular clothes on (he was 5). He ended up sleeping all night and woke up mortified that he never put his pj's on, lol. But he felt a lot better!

C did that after her two month shots, but, you know, she was two months old.

B also is sick, fever and a cough. He fell asleep at 3 for his afternoon nap and is still asleep now, 30 min from bedtime....I'm just going to let him sleep.

A went to bed Saturday night at 5:30pm and slept through until 8:30am the next day! She was fighting a stomach bug but it was just what she needed.

@hilsy85: omg! my son has done something similar.
he goes down for his 2nd nap at 3pm and zzzzz til 3-4am! When he does this I feed him and we play for about 45mins-an hour then I put him back down and he sleeps for another 3ish hours.
I would go to bed early just in case he wakes! -

It was a debacle! He woke up at 7 and we JUST got him to go back to sleep (I hope I hope) at 10pm!! I have NO idea what this means for tonight/tomorrow morning...now I am off to bed!

For me, I wake them up no matter what, especially if they've been napping for over 2 hours. They might be a little cranky when woken up at first but they get over it. I've never had issues with sleep at night but I might just have good sleepers too. Hope he feels better too! Both of my boys have ear infections and colds as well so I know the feeling!

So it was an ear infection, poor baby!
It would be very important for me to make sure he's hydrated, so I would be a nervous nelly all night long.

@LuLu Mom: @littlek: he is actually doing much better this morning, thanks for asking!! Last night went pretty well after his late night partying--he slept straight from 10 to 6, and then in bed with me til 7. Of course that throws his naps off for today, so hopefully we get back on track. But mood wise he seems back to himself, I guess the meds have started to kick in thank goodness!
