I have noticed the ads below original posts are getting a little load bar and creating a pop up ad?
Is this a new google trick? It's super annoying....

I just had that happen to me. I despise pop-up ads. Does anyone know if there is a way of disabling them? I don't mind ads on a sidebar or unintrusive ones but when I run into pop-up ads, I get really annoyed.

We have never allowed pop ups of any kind and our ads are powered by Google, which doesn't allow pop ups.
The ads being described sound like an expandable. The extra content only appears if you move your mouse over an expandable ad, which shouldn't be that often as expandables should be a very small percentage of the ads displayed on the site.
@mediagirl: You can always turn off any ad from Google by clicking on the word AdChoice in the upper right of the ad!

@mrbee: thanks! I must have moused over it because I just did it again and same thing happened. Since that's the case, I know just to keep my mouse away from them! These are no where near as bad as some blog websites you go to where there are pop-up ads all over the place.
