We road trip to NYC often to visit my family which is about 7 hrs. The last time we went she was right at 16 months. It's def harder at this age because they sleep less so they get antsy.
Are you planning on driving straight through or stopping? I highly suggest starting at bedtime so you get a good chunk through when she's asleep. Then when she wakes up stop somewhere for gas and food that she can walk around etc. Be prepared to bring out new and favorite toys, music, snacks, etc.

Or start at nap time. But honestly the more I think about it with a trip that length it really doesn't matter. LOL. But we can usually go three hours before stopping for gas. So it makes sense to plan your departure with that in mind and her nap/sleep schedule.

Is hell. Lol. We just took our 15 month on a 8 hr drive and there were some rough moments. We downloaded a bunch of games on an ipod touch for her to play with. That kept her occupied for about an hour then it was not good. We stopped halfway at a mall for her to run around in. We didnt make a whole lot of stops though so if you give yourself plenty of time to make stops it should be fine!

We just took our 2 month old on an 8 hour drive. It went pretty smoothly. A 16 month old might be a little tougher because they would probably need a bit more entertaining.

Sounds scary! Maybe you can break it up into 2 days? We've done 6-7 hour drives, but the older K gets, the more I am dreading the next ones. We had to stop a few times just so she could get out of the car seat - she did not want to be in it anymore. Once she was done, she was done, and the rest of the drive was hard!

I would not do a drive that long with a young toddler! We did a 10 hour drive this summer with an infant and 2 year old but we split it over two days. Each day took 7 or 8 hours instead of 5 because of stops, and that was with a baby that was still napping more and an older toddler that could sit still much longer than he could a year earlier...
