I have a super cute lobster rash guard and trunks picked out for LO at Carter's, but noticed there aren't as many options for long sleeved rash guards, at least in the boys section. Which kind do you prefer?

I like the long sleeve ones because they have more sun protection. I agree, it's harder to find them though.

I got long sleeve for my toddler last year and she was way too warm. She complained the whole time and I finally changed her into a short sleeved rash guard. She runs hot like daddy so we'll just have to slather sun screen on her arms.

The LS ones provide better coverage, but I find them to be such a PITA to put on/take off. I prefer SS and extra sunscreen.

We almost always do long sleeves. Gap and Old Navy usually have some nice solid colors that go with everything.

short sleeved (well, more like elbow length). Otherwise E is always pushing them up and they get in the way.
I got one at Walmart for $6.44!

@blackbird: good call! I should check our Walmart
@Mrs. Bee: I want to try one for myself too and I think short sleeves would be good.
@SeptMomma12: @littlebug: @regberadaisy: @ShootingStar: @mrsjyw: thanks, ladies! Maybe I just need to buy one of each so we can see what he likes. I don't think I will have trouble picking two cute swim outfits!

I do both! If there is no shade or it's the beach, long-sleeved. If just a short dip at the pool or later in the day, short-sleeved. Target has both for $10 apiece.

C wore a 3/4 sleeve one last week in 80+ degrees and was fine. I did put sunscreen on her forearms.
@Mrs. Bee: I have a cap sleeve rash guard for me from Athleta and I really love it. I still have to do sunscreen on my arms but my shoulders are what always gets the darkest, plus my bark is hard to reach myself. So I would highly recommend it! I didn't feel too hot at all and it was black.
