Look at the pretty glowing light bulbs in my fridge and freezer that I haven't seen for 6 days. Can't wait to go to the grocery store tomorrow!!! Feeling oh so blessed right now.

@NYCaliMama: yes, I could have really lived without power for longer but not having heat was so stressful. I kept worrying about DD being cold and she got a little sick but not too bad.

You can probably fie an insurance claim on the food you lost (probably only worth it if it was packed to the gills or if you have additional storm claims) -
@dagret: Wow, really, thanks for the info. We already filed a claim last year because our basement flooded with Hurricane Irene so I'm not going to bother with some spoiled food. Luckily, nothing else happened to our house this time, so I'm very happy!
