@Mrs. Rabbit: we have a store near. I'm afraid to try and fall in love. We have a rocker that I just don't love, but it does the job.

@Mrs. Rabbit: When we went to buy our glider, BBB told us that we couldn't use the 20% off coupon. It says excludes furniture. I argued with them that on a previous visit to try out thr seat the sales person said we could use it. Let us finally. But just wanted to warn you!

@Smurfette: oh, I'll put up a huge fight! I specifically asked when I was there yesterday and they said I could. I should've written down the lady's name! Thanks for the warning. I'll absolutely double check (and write down names) if I'm told that again!

@Mrs. Rabbit: I hope you get it! We're gonna get it too, thanks to my SIL! We told them to get the floor model and ask for a discount/try to use coupons, but she said it's germy so she's gonna order a new one... Only I think it takes 6-8 weeks!

@Mrs. Rabbit: The Irvington in that gray fabric I posted a pic of! I still feel really bad, it's so much money to spend on one chair (even tho it's not my $!). But we should be using it for 2 kids at least! And I told DH since this is the chair he wanted he better be doing some feedings in that chair!

@snowjewelz: haha awesome! I told my husband about it last night and he emailed me back saying that he's been "rearranging our room in his mind to find a place for it". He's totally excited to have it in there for the first few months and then move it into the nursery. Yay for awesome chairs! I love that the recliner part is so quiet—I tried a lot of Lazy Boy chairs and they were so noisy, which was my big hesitant; I didn't want a loud chair for a baby...kinda defeats the purpose. That was my biggest selling point for the Best chair!

Just chiming in to say we have a Best Chairs glider and ottoman and it is awesome. I regret getting the ottoman because it's basically a glorified Boppy shelf. I would rather have had a gliding recliner. But I don't think they had those back then!! (We bought ours in 2009). We paid SO. MUCH. for the chair and ottoman but it was our one and only big nursery expense so we went for it. It's been 5 years and we'll probably sell it in the next few years, and it's still LIKE NEW. We have spent soooo. MANY... HOURS... in that chair so it's worth every penny to make sure you have one that you absolutely love. The Irvington looks like heaven!!

I need to stop reading this thread ;), I've pretty much convinced myself that I need to go to BBB and get a chair this weekend. Perhaps I can sell our La-Z-Boy that I don't love to cover at least a bit of the expense.

@MamaG: Haha we're a horrible influence I've definitely been selling things to not only declutter before this baby gets here, but to offset the cost so I don't feel so bad. I'm sure someone would love to have your La-Z-Boy!
@mrs. wagon: you're just feeding our drive to get these chairs! haha. Glad you love yours

@MamaG: That chair is heavenly, I wasn't even going to look at it until DH sat right in it and became obsessed haha!
@Mrs. Rabbit: I can totally see it being just a lounging/reading chair too before and/or after baby!

We ordered our Irvington tonight. Now I'm just hoping it takes six weeks or less. I liked the tryp chair too.

@MamaG: yay!!! I think I'm going with the Bilana—my husband is pretty tall, so I think he'll like the fit of that one better. Did you get any discounts/use coupons?
pomelo / 5298 posts
My husband is also tall and he really didn't like the Bilana (or at least I think that's the one that was on display at BRU). I didn't mind it
We had a 20% off for BBB that we used. I also had a generous gift card that covered a little over half of the chair price.

The price is beyond outrageous, it's almost nauseating, but this gorgeousness is my dream rocking chair.

@MamaG: oooh interesting that he didn't like it. Did he say why? I have to buy this one without my husband around to test it out. EEK!

If I'm thinking of the right chair, it was just much more firm. Not as plush and comfy.

@Mrs. Rabbit: Ignore my comments, it was a Blaine chair. I'm not familiar with the one you are considering.
blogger / clementine / 750 posts
@MamaG: So many chairs!! I wish there was a place that had all of them; I don't think my BBB had a "Blaine," but I"m going to check the next time I'm there!

Okay, we bit the bullet and ordered the Irvington a couple weeks ago! It should arrive (at the earliest) on December 23. I can't wait to get my butt in that chair!!
