We went out to dinner last night and LO was in a great mood. She was laughing and making weird squeaking noises the whole time. It was adorable, but she was sooooo loud! I'm afraid the other people eating didn't think it was so adorable. We were outside at least, and there was loud music playing.
Do you get annoying with loud babies at restaurants?

Maybe before the LO came I would be annoyed but now I probably don't even hear it. Now that I am a parent....I can tune most things out.

Ha, we went out last night and LO was doing the same!
I only get annoyed when it is super late and babies/kids seem to be melting down because they clearly need to get home and go to bed. But, I get annoyed more with the parents for doing that to their kids.

@Andrea: A lot of the people there were parents. There were actually two newborns, and I saw one crying but I couldn't even hear her. But they let you pick where you sit and nobody wanted to sit next to us, lol.

@Boogs: LO did start melting down at the very end. But I very quickly picked her up and went on a walk with her while hubby paid the bill. I figured she had annoyed everyone enough already.

I only get annoyed if the kid is having a meltdown and the parents don't do anything.

I don't mind squeaky, happy babies in restaurants. Its when meltdowns happen that I start to get annoyed if the parents don't do something about it.

I don't mind if the baby is making noises - that's what they do. If it's an older child acting up, then I have a problem with it. As for other loud noises - I am so sick of parents allowing their children to have phones or ipads at restaurants and allowing them to have the volume up so everyone else can hear the game sounds, too!

@mediagirl: My husband was annoyed because two ladies were on their cell phone, with the speaker on. I told him that he can't complain though, our LO was way louder.

Yeah happy baby sounds don't bother me. I mean, they probably would in a fancy restaurant. But certainly not when you are outside around music any way! But when kids act up and scream and cry and the parents don't do anything I get SO annoyed. I know the parents need a break too and maybe they are just so tired they can't deal with it. But if that's the case, get a babysitter!

Loud happy baby sounds are good 
Loud, crying, sad, tantrum noises are bad. That's when I get annoyed-- but if I saw a super happy baby, I would love it. That is, unless they were like, banging silverware and throwing stuff and their parents didn't care.

@HabesBabe: Lol, no silverware banging here. The only thing LO gets to touch on the table is the menu. She loves menus! But I didn't even let her have it there because it's a nicer restaurant so I didn't want her to ruin it.

I guess it's cuz I'm not a parent yet, but I do find loud kids annoying... And my nephew was one of them. He kept screaming and I felt very embarrassed that my bro and sil weren't really doing much to discipline him... We were at an expensive restaurant - luckily there was loud music (not violins)... But still...

Happy baby noises don't bother me. Actually, baby laughter is probably one of my favorite sounds! Unhappy baby noises, on the other hand, do make me upset if it looks like the parent isn't trying to remedy the situation.

My LO makes pretty loud happy sounds too. She's no louder than someone talking though so that's how I justify it. If she starts to get upset we leave but that's only been at the end of meals if at all. I used to pick her up and leave if her happy sounds got too loud but we had so many people in church comment that they loved her sounds, there was even several announcements that if baby is making a joyful noise stay and let everyone enjoy. So now I'm not nearly as self-conscious about her loud happiness.

Hehe I'm sure people weren't bothered by it. My Lo squeals with delight all the time when we eat out. Luckily all the restaurants we go to are loud. No quiet fine dining for us!
