I don't go to these stores that much but service doesn't seem that great at Lowe's.
Do you have a preference?

I had a super bad experience at Lowe's recently. I was so upset that I sent some letters to corporate. Shocker, haven't heard back. I do usually prefer to shop there though because I do like their selection better.

I like Lowe's stuff better (garden & fixtures, etc.) but Home Depot prices are better.

If I know what I'm looking for or am just browsing for different styles, I go to Lowe's. If I need help or advice, I go to Home Depot.

Home Depot...but, I really don't go to either of those stores very often

We go to Home Depot and Menards on a weekly basis.
There is a Lowes, but it is a ways away. They all seem to have the same level of service when we are there.

We go to lowes. They're still a big box, but slightly better politics in our opinion.

I prefer the prices at Home Depot and usually go there first. Lowe's is nicer and will go there as a second option.

Same as @Alivoo01: We typically go to Home Depot first - they have slightly better prices in our area. But I think Lowes has nicer stuff and a better selection. So it depends on what we're buying. Plus HD is closer to our house then Lowes is.

Lowes, usually, but only because it's closer. No actual preference for it, though.

Lowes. But mainly because the nearest Home Depot is like 25 minutes and lowes is only 5. I can't even remember the last time I was in a HD.

@Mrs. Jacks: Ohhhh... tell me more! I don't do Lowe's since they pulled their advertising from "All American Muslim" due to complaints from some extreme right-wingers. But, if Home Depot engages in similar stuff then I don't know what I'm going to do

Lowes! Only bc that's the only hardware store in my town. HD is 45 mins away, but I really like Lowes!

We've gotten most of our recent reno purchases from Lowes. I find them mostly the same.

Hmm if I had to choose between the two probably Home Depot, but in reality we only go to Menards.

My DH and I discuss this all the time.
We feel Home Depot is more man friendly
And Lowe's is more woman friendly.
My vote is Lowe's!

Lowes. I've had excellent customer service there! They price match, give you 10% off on the new price, AND we get a military discount every time we shop there. Home Depot is much further away.

In our town, Lowe's has MUCH BETTER customer service. When we first bought our house and moved here, I often referred to the Lowe's employees as my friends... they rocked. Home Depot, however, also seemed short-staffed.

Home Depot, but only because I don't think I've ever been to Lowes

I think Lowe's has a better selection. I like Home Depot's kid projects and website. I didn't know Lowe's did a price match...cool!

Home Depot. Better service, selection, and prices. When I've gone into lowes looking for something specific, they tend to patronize me and talk down to me as if I don't know what I'm looking for. Last time that happened I went across the street and took my business - and my lowes coupon -- to Home Depot.

We shop at Menards and Home Depot.
We have had multiple bad experiences at Lowe's. We even gave them another shot at they still screwed up. No more!!
