Not really sure how to title this, but I'm going back to work very soon, and I have been home with my 8 month old since he was born. My partner is very against paying for childcare because his hours are flexible enough that he will be able to watch the baby while I am at work. Basically he's going to change his work schedule to go in later, and add weekend days to his shifts. So, we will hardly ever see each other but not have to pay for a nanny or daycare.

I feel like this plan is kind of nuts and that's it's going to fall apart once my SO actually stays home with the baby for more than a few hours at a time.

Can anyone share their positive experiences of stay at home dad's/dad's who are the primary caregivers? Am I being too pessimistic/unsupportive? I feel so stressed about all of this..
