@LaughLines: I went off about 3 months before we will officially start trying, in hopes of letting my cycle regulate. I'm currently on my 2nd cycle, the first cycle was 34 days.

@LindsayInNYC: That's surprising your Gyn didn't mention anything, mine said I should expect the process of TTC should take anywhere from 3 - 6 months.

@littlek: Nope, said it could happen right away. Which, technically is always a possibility. She's very laid back, I guess. Oh well, such is life. We can only plan our destiny for much. At some point, it's out of our hands.

@LindsayInNYC: i hear you. mine said the exact same thing (even though in the past, i've gone over a year without a period off the pill). She was so chill about it, like "it doesn't mean anything, you'll probably have no problems getting pregnant!" i think what she meant was "i have no idea what it means" but she didn't want to say that.

i'm a little bitter about that right now, as my period is late, which i'm guessing means i didn't O or O'd later than i thought this cycle, which means i'm looking at a long cycle and have no idea when to expect AF. i thought i was in good shape b/c my first month off was normal, but i guess that may have been a fluke. i think i foolishly got my (and my DH's) hopes up that going off bcp was going to be a one-month struggle. Such is life

I'm officially back! I haven't been on in several months because DH and I took a break from TTC, but I just had some basic fertility testing done and am ready to go! Just started the TWW and hope to test and get that BFP in time for DH's birthday or our 1st wedding anniversary!

@Pirouette: Totally agree! I think mine was in the "you're still so young, I wouldn't worry" camp. Except I'm 29 1/2 so yes and no. I don't want this to take forever, if I have any say in the matter. I use to take my BC straight for 2 packs - so basically 6 weeks in between AF. If I went too long, I'd start to spot (which is why I thought I'd regulate quickly after BC). Just before I stopped BC, I had two normal BC cycles (3 weeks then AF). My first cycle off BC was 40 days. I figured it was because I had two close together before, that my body was thrown off. But this cycle is proving otherwise. I'm still seeing CM which makes me think I didn't O yet. And I just started temping so we'll see if that helps or shows anything. I too thought I would be the "exception" to the norm here - hah! (We might've already talked about this - is this your 2nd cycle after BC?)

@LindsayInNYC: ha, yes, we discussed it in a former life (i used to be esqbee, then changed my name). but yes, it's my 2nd month! i am 31, so while i'm not old, i'm also not getting younger i never skipped the placebo week, but i also spotted occasionally on the pill, and i have to say, even though this interim period sucks, i don't miss the pill at all! are you tracking anything other than cm (and now temps)? i was using OPKs, but i'm not so confident they are telling me anything...DH won't let me temp yet though, so i guess i'll have to just guess for a while longer

@mrsdoily: Welcome back, when are you looking to POAS, FX for your anniversary BFP

  13. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@Pirouette: Ahhh, tricky name changes We're in identical boats it seems! I was thinking I'd notice a huge difference post-BC but I really haven't (knock on wood) - no crazy acne, weight gain, mood changes... I started using OPK this cycle since I got them free from someone on here. But I've been using them since CD18 or so (thinking I'd have a 40 day cycle again) with little results so far. The only reason I went to temping was to try and confirm that I am in fact ovulating. It makes it hard to TTC and "plan" BDing if I'm not even ovulating!

  14. Pirouette

    pomegranate / 3331 posts

@LindsayInNYC: yea i know! the OPKs are a blessing and a curse. i got one + a few weeks ago, thought i O'd, but never got AF, so i'm pretty sure i didn't O. without temping, just know way to know what a + OPK really means. i'm thinking 2 more months and then we'll revisit it.

i have to say, i'm banging on wood, but i'm so surprised how little my face has broken out off bcp! i thought i'd be a pimply mess by now of course, then i worry it's because i'm not O'ing, haha.

@mrsdoily: oooh, an anniversary bfp would be awesome! FX!

I am pretty sure my body hates me right now and is playing tricks on me. I have been pretty regular the last 5 months with O always being between CD14-16. It is currently CD 16 and nothing yet. I think I am getting close.

Top 2 are Saturday AM and PM, then Sunday AM and PM and the very bottom one is this morning. Could Saturday PM be a positive?

  16. T.H.O.U.

    wonderful clementine / 24134 posts

@MrsCastro: If you've been pretty regular, I think Saturday PM could count as a line. Are you charting or temping in addition to these? I would BD just in case!

  17. MrsCastro

    persimmon / 1491 posts

@T.H.O.U.: i am not...just OPK'ing...I wonder if i could have missed the "high" surge in the middle of the day...saturday AM is about 9AM and then Satrurday PM is about 8PM...

  18. delight

    pomelo / 5326 posts

@MrsCastro: I am not sure if any of them are quite positive yet. I would always think mine were positive and then WHAM! I'd get one where there was no mistaking it. The one at the bottom looks the darkest.. But did you take the picture when it was still wet?

Here is my OPK from November, the cycle I got pregnant. My internet cheapie test line was darker than control. It was one of those WHAM! moments for me so I followed it up with a digital and got the smile. I'd say definitely don't give up testing and keep BDing! Good luck! OPKs were probably the most frustrating aspect of TTC. That's why I ended up following up with digitals just to be sure, but that gets expensive!

@Beetones: I'm thinking that I will probably POAS on the 14th if I can't wait until my period.

@Pirouette: I know!! Really hoping it happens!

  20. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@MrsCastro: from looking at your opks, it looks like o hasn't happened. Unless you missed the surge. Keep bding and opking. Fingers crossed for a positive soon. I'm cd19 and hoping to get a positive within the next day or 2. *hugs* positive thoughts! Your body is an amazing thing. It will bring you your baby!

  21. Turd Ferguson

    pomegranate / 3160 posts

@MrsCastro: See, I'd say if you think you're close, your OPKs might be right about O. Here's the ones I had--none of them were a GLARING positive, but FF said I O'ed on CD55... Sorry about the piss-poor (heheheh) picture quality:

    ETA: Bottom is CD56

  22. Pirouette

    pomegranate / 3331 posts

@MrsCastro: mine are kinda similar to yours from sat pm. maybe a tiny bit darker. though i'm not temping so i'm not positive i'm Oing, but, at least last month, it seemed right on with my other symptoms. This month, however, i was pretty sure it was positive (like yours), and now i think maybe it wasn't (since i didn't get AF yet). so i can't really help, but i seriously share your frustration! OPKs are seriously the worst thing about TTC for me.

  23. MrsCastro

    persimmon / 1491 posts

@Pirouette: @Ash: @ms.janedoe: @delight: thanks ladies...i have gotten very bold positives in past months, a lot sooner...i am just not sure why my body wants to mess with emotional me this month...maybe its my bodys way of telling me this is the last time i have a worry about OPK's, becuase i will get my BFP this month...haha wishful thinking right???

  24. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@MrsCastro: I bought a box of digital opks this month to confirm my wondfos... stupid things play tricks on my eyes. Still waiting for my positive too... *sigh* cd19 here. and yes.... this will be your last month of having to use those darn things! :)))

Our schedule has not been in the favor of bd'ing but dangit, we are making it work! The enormous amount of snow we are supposed to get today/tonight/tomorrow is working against my body ready to make a baby!

My friend of 22 years told me after 4 years of trying and a few failed ivfs that she got a positive blood test today! I'm over the moon excited for her!! :))

Ladies... I feel weird saying it, but I got a BFP today!!!! This is nuts, I was just thinking that I didn't know if I could do this for another year and a half, which is what it took us for #1. First cycle trying for #2! I couldn't wait to test, I think I am 9 dpo. I'll be joining chitownro and ms.janedoe on the November boards, and I hope to see the rest of you there soon!!

Ok girls, I really think I'm just psyching myself out and symptom spotting... BUT, I have to put this out there... I am 7 dpo (based on opks). I checked CM today, it's creamy with the slightest twinge of pink (can see pink only on the white TP) and I've gotten some weird pings and pains almost cramps going on (nothing like my painful AF cramps). Could this be what I think it could be... Implantation?

I don't know... Maybe AF is just coming early? I think I'm just symptom spotting, but I can't help but hope!! Please... Talk me off the ledge!
