@mfa_lady: meh! We are going on a cruise on Tuesday for our anniversary so I'm excited about that! I'm 6dpo but we only bd six-seven days before ovulation, so I'm being realistic about that lol. Mojitos on the beach are on the horizon! DH doesn't want to take march off to avoid a December bday, so we are waiting to o at the end of the month!

@dc yoga bee: Oh, have so much fun on your cruise! I remember you saying the timing was wacky for y'all this month because of some travel stuff--I hope you can thoroughly enjoy those mojitos and get some serious baby-making done at the end of the month. I'll be thinking about you!

I'm good. This morning I had a dream where my friend came to me to tell me that I was going to start bleeding soon. I told her I knew- and when I woke up AF had arrived. It was a bit odd.

I don't dread AF anymore. I use it as a time to be really reflective and nurturing. I asked DH to pick up something uplifting from the store. I will get some more organic cotton mama pads today. They are so indulgent and nice. During the weekend of AF, I try to do only what I feel like doing. Last month I didn't feel like doing any housework, but I have been taking an adrenal supplement and have WAY more energy now, so I will probably take some time to show the love some house.

I also take a bubble bath with mineral salts and soak my feet in a rose petal essential oil soak. I cover myself in lotion and wear fuzzy socks. I drink my moontime tea and wear my pretty garnet moontime ring:

Today I went on a walk before a storm moves in and it was really wonderful. Mother nature is just ripe with fertility. Some trees look absolutely full of buds, ready to break forth.

And then I took this picture of buds pushing off an old leaf from last season. I feel that is exactly where I am today. In between...but ripe with the potential of fertility. I think I ovulated exactly when I think I did- so that is pretty exciting. (And I seem to be cycling with the moon phases, which is also pretty exciting)

Also, my skin condition isn't NEARLY as bad as it usually is during AF (which is usually totally like adding insult to injury)- so that is a WONDERFUL thing! I wonder if it is my soy based aminos:
http://bragg.com/products/la.html. Or it could be the royal jelly, which I need to get more of.

@HolisticMama: I'm sad you are a rollover, but I so admire your attitude. Lots of positive thoughts headed your way for this next cycle. Did you find using OPKs helpful at all, or was it more stressful than it was worth?

@HolisticMama: Sorry you rolled over but happy that you have some new insight into your cycle and hoping that spring brings you a BFP!

I am still waiting to ovulate. High on my monitor. Negative OPK with a slight line. I am CD13. Still hoping i will ovulate closer to CD15 when i usually do but wet sticky CM makes me think not. We shall see. Not feeling super optimistic because my son is still a boob hog all night long.

@MrsMccarthy: The OPKs just slide into the monitor, right? Are you enjoying it?

@Mrs.Panda: Did you end up using the royal jelly last cycle? I wasn't going to use royal jelly again this cycle, because I didn't think it made a difference...and then a thought popped into my head: Panda used royal jelly and she got pregnant. Keep using it.

@ChiCalGoBee: Yup. OPKs were good. I didn't ovulate until CD18 (Last Quarter Moon). So our timing was pretty good, actually. ) O-8, O-6, O-4, O-2, O-1, O (So sperm was super fresh).
This cycle I want to hit O+1.

@Adira: I agree. I REALLY want it next month. I have daydreamed of a December birth. I also have had two different "visions" (or sorts) where when I did the math...I conceived in March. I will probably be a little more bummed then usual if it's not out month.

  18. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@HolisticMama: Eeeek! I hope, given your visions, that it all comes to fruition and you conceive this month!!!! Fingers crossed for us both!!

I bought myself a present this morning while running errands (buying more cloth pads):

It's a Lunaette Selene. It's named after the Greek Gooddess Selene; she is the mother aspect of the triple Goddess , which represents womanhood, she is represented by the full moon, were she is at the height of her reproductive potential.

I might give it a go during AF, but I really got it for BDing. Sticky sticky BDing.

@HolisticMama: I love this. Thank you for reminding me that even during dreaded AF, there is so much to be grateful for and we can choose to surround ourselves with positivity and the beauty mother nature provides. You are an amazing woman, there are good things in the future for you.

@HolisticMama: Add me to the list of people who appreciate your great attitude! I love the image of buds and how that translates to the potential that we each have as future mamas!

On another note: I'm a crazy lady - I tested yesterday on CD20, with no indication AT ALL that I've even o'd yet. I was just feeling a little nauseated and I had a ton of wondfos, so I figured why not. Needless to say, it was negative, and the nausea went away after I had a snack Still planning to test on 3/16, but I'm not hopeful, as my OPKs have all been negative. Keeping up with BDing in case I've missed my surge (I'm only OPKing 1x/day) and because we're still having fun Starting to stress a little about timing for next cycle, but because we're facing a medicated cycle, including starting with progesterone to induce my period, we have a little more control (theoretically) about when things happen. Trying to stay positive, and feeling surprisingly good today. I'll credit the beautiful weather in my part of the world.

Looking forward to some good news on this thread. I know it's coming soon!

@anyajenkins: Initially I thought that you said you recommend AF. And I was thinking, "Yes..I recommend menstruation, as well. Without it- it's hard to make a baby."

@mfa_lady: Thanks! I'm sending you warm and fuzzy thoughts, as well!

@ABCmrs: Hi! I don't think I know much about your journey so far. Does your medicated cycle include some nice doctor monitoring and ultrasounds? I would love to know exactly when I ovulate. I never get positive OPKs, but I get dark ones.

@theotherstark: Thanks! I've been missing posting this/last month. I felt sooooo busy!

@winniebee: When does PMS usually happen? I actually feel better a few days before AF, but the week before? UGH. And I always think I might be pregnant...but alas. :: sigh ::

@HolisticMama: honestly I can't even remember!! I went on the pill after T was born so I haven't had true PMS in 3 years lol

  33. HeartAbandoned

    clementine / 933 posts

@HolisticMama: After some long cycles, a blood test, and an ultrasound to look at my ovaries, I was diagnosed last week with PCOS. So, I'm in the middle of a cycle, with instructions from my doctor to use OPKs, and if I haven't gotten a period by 3/16, to test. If it's negative, I'm to call her office, and she'll prescribe progesterone to jump-start my period, then after that happens, I'll start Clomid (50mg) on CD3. She wants me to use OPKs to try and track ovulation, plus I'll go in for a blood test at CD21 to confirm O. So far this cycle, I've used an OPK once a day since CD10 (currently CD21), and while there's a line there every day, they definitely haven't been positive. If I do happen to get a positive OPK in the next week, I'll probably delay all of the above steps until I give this cycle a fair shake at working! Thanks for asking I think it helps me process it when I talk/type about it!

  34. HolisticMama

    persimmon / 1167 posts

@ABCmrs: How many cycles have you been trying? Did you have any LOs already?
It is difficult to process? DH and I actually did fertility testing before TTC (because apparently I'm freakishly proactive.) and we found out that we have both male and female issues. I'm not sure when I will finally starting processing it. LOL. Maybe 6 months in? Like..."Hm, Oh. Yes. I guess we really are having issues."

So far I'm just staying optimistic.

  35. HeartAbandoned

    clementine / 933 posts

@HolisticMama: No little ones yet. We stopped BC in September 2013. Since then, I'm on cycle 4. I had one super-long cycle pre-BC (why I started BC in the first place), and then when I saw my OB/GYN, I had just finished a 79-day cycle, so she tested me immediately. I'm definitely still processing, but have several friends and acquaintances that have conceived on Clomid (many on their first round!), so I'm trying to stay optimistic! I'm using OPKs and taking mucinex this cycle, then I'll add Clomid next time. My current concern is that I'll be traveling for work next month, and I'm afraid it will be in the middle of my fertile window. But, since I'll likely be taking something to start my cycle, I'm in control of when it starts, and I can delay that if I need to!

I love that you're so proactive, and that you have doctors who are receptive to that! I know of so many people whose doctors won't do any sort of testing until they've been trying for 6 months or a year. I love that you were able to find out up-front that you might be facing challenges, and that you can take steps to make sure you have the best shot at it! Are you doing anything "extra" to help?

Good luck on your fresh cycle!

@ABCmrs: Hm. Well. I've completely changed my diet. I don't eat any chemicals, additives or food like substances anymore. I eat a lot of fermented and probiotic foods. I'm taking a prenatal, fish oils, vitamin D, royal jelly, and probiotic.

I just started taking an adrenal supplement: https://www.drrons.com/organ-and-glandular-supplements/adrenal-new-zealand.html
I've been meaning to try it for a couple years now. A lot of people recommend taking DHEA for low AMH. AMH is related to the adrenal gland- so I thought this might be a more natural approach- and why not?

I visit a chiropractic and acupuncturist weekly. Drink filtered water (the filter alleges it takes out hormones). I drink raw milk and make bone broth twice a month. I lost 50 pounds. I use OPKs. I check my CM and cervical position. I've used fertility essential oils (http://www.kamala.com/oils/info/wcon553.html). LOL. I guess I should have just posted my facebook album:

DH and I have also done funny things like sleeping with kokopelli's under our pillows and putting native american fetishes on our night stands: http://www.pprsonline.com/products/zuni-ram-fetish?utm_source=googlepla&utm_medium=cpc#.UxpSqj9dWSo

@ChiCalGoBee: Thanks! TTC has definitely changed my life for the absolute better. I completed my first 10K (walking) last year in my quest for being healthy for a baby. I also try to live a fairly stress free life in order to be relatively zen for TTC. (Ha.) Oh- and I go to that therapist twice a month. Yup. I've tried to cover all the bases.

Do you all have any other fun ideas? I'm really open to them.

Oh. I also started a pinterest page about a year ago:

And I got a pregnant mama and baby milagro when we were in Santa Fe a couple weekends ago.

I'm a bit (okay...that's an understatement) of a TTC Geek.
