I stated that I was out on maternity leave. They said something like:

"I am currently out on maternity leave and will return around February 23rd. For <program specific> questions, please contact <boss name>. For all other questions, please contact <other name>."

I would mention maternity leave, I guess I see no reason not to.

We've already emailed all our clients to let them know I'm expecting and will be out of the office from approx early Dec to early March.

My company completely shuts down your profile while you're on maternity leave to make sure people don't work during that period. Or that no one else can log in under that profile. But it's infuriating because if someone emails my email address they get an error reply message that looks like I've left the firm.

I mentioned maternity leave and said I would be out through September, without giving a specific date.

I think I did because I took 3 months off. I still checked in daily though.

Considering I'm 15 weeks and still haven't told all my coworkers, eh. I don't really know if it's someone's business.

I will give a general return date so that people I work with a lot will know i'm coming back and approx. when. But I don't think it's really anyone's business why I'm out. And those I work with regularly will probably be able to put two and two together just from seeing me.

I am in a highly male oriented field and didn't feel like sharing the details, so I said "extended leave" instead of "maternity leave." I think most people made the connection because no one asked about it (however, I don't actually get too many outside emails).

I was out on bed rest prior to maternity leave so I just stated that I'd be out of the office indefinitely. I truly had no clue when I'd deliver and be back to work so I couldn't put a specific end date. Plus I didn't feel like airing my medical issues out for the world so I chose to be vague. Some customers asked what was up but most either knew I had been pregnant or chose not to ask.

Nope I just said I'm out of office until xx date and to contact so and so for all matters in the mean time. I figure if you see that I'm out for that long, it's probably maternity leave. And people within my company that I email would already know, and most outside contacts that I regularly work with, I probably told in order to make sure they start corresponding with someone else, etc.
