@MrsMcD: Or she could feel like she has a legitimate disagreement with the guidance. I think the research is pretty compelling, but, I do know some docs who just think the current recommendations are misguided or not quite in line with their preferred practices.
Next time she has you in for a pap, maybe say something like, "I heard there were new guidelines for less frequent paps, is that something that would be appropriate for me?"

@lilyofthewest: I'm actually going to keep my mouth shut. I like being tested every year.

Very interesting about the pap stuff. I always have gone every year and never knew it was ok not to. I haven't yet had one with my current doctor, as I switched last August, but it has been about a year since my last one, I think, so I'll ask him what he thinks.
Oh, and I have never had an abnormal pap.

@Crystal: @MrsMcD: I've lived in So Cal nearly all of my 28 years annnnd I've never been to Glen Ivy So I vote YES!

@mrs. tictactoe: clarification - you SHOULD still go get a check up of the lady bits every year. You just don't need a pap (just one of many tests you get at an annual) every year. I still get my tits squeezed and all my other parts molested, just no huge pipe cleaner (unless you are getting an std test, then that comes into play again).

You girls are hilarious!
@LindsayinNY: LP started off very short (3-4 days max) when AF first came back. They've lengthened a bit, with the longest one in the past 8-9 months being 8-9 days - but most months it's 6-7 days max.
@Septca: Yeah I'm worried that I won't be able to get pregnant until I wean...but I'm still just not at a place where I'm completely ready to do that yet. My charts show me clearly that I'm Oing every month...just my LP doesn't seem long enough to support carrying anything through.

Hahaha! This really is the best thread! I just caught up on THREE pages of posts. I get too busy during the day to check in (I teach kindergarten and the l'il darlins wouldn't understand why I was laughing at my phone! Lol).
Love the Volunteer Tribute meme! Love how sweet you all are to each other! And can't wait to hear the sassy sex stories in a couple weeks!
I'm waiting to O in next few days. Not much to report. Doo pe doo... Naturopath gave me a rx for progesterone cream to put on my body after I O this cycle. That's exciting! Otherwise, using OPKs n waiting... Doo pe doo again...

@Keppa: Those are pretty short LPs! I think I read it's harder to get pregnant while breastfeeding but it could still happen.
Confession (It feels like I say this a lot..) - I totally watch 19 and counting with the Dugger family. They had a lot of their kids while breastfeeding.

@LIL BEAN: Kindergarten! That sounds darling but I bet it's probably hectic. I wanted to be a elementary school teacher when I was little but my jerky parents said no. Classic I have to be a doctor or lawyer. When I tell people this they said you can still do it! I might someday.

CD6, blah. Work is tough right now, please send prayers and good vibes. (We'll direct the good vibes toward work since nothing is happening on the TTC front.)
I am trying to figure out how to honor my mother for Mothers' day without my heart breaking in two. She is local, we always do something, and she doesn't know we're TTC.

CD1 over here. As this was my first month temping, it was nice to see my temp drop below cover line this morning and then AF make her entrance. Makes me think maybe I wasn't doing it wrong after all Should be able to POAS around 6/5. And it looks like my wedding anniversary is smack in the middle of my fertile window. That's a good sign, right?!

My coworker just announced she is pregnant. Blah. Also, my previous doctor told me I only needed a pap smear every 2 yrs as long as I haven't,had an abnormal one.

@MrsMcD: I just saw your comment about looking into your vag while it's bleeding! Lol, I've never had a pap while at was in town so I moved it to next Saturday.
Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I'm happy for my coworker and know they've been trying for a while so it's her day! I just hope we get our turn soon!

Holy crapola, I've missed 4 pages of chatter!
So, today I go in for a pregnancy test to make sure I'm not KU for my HSG tomorrow. Weirdest feeling ever...going in for a preg test when you KNOW you're not. Ha!
@MrsMcD: I know absolutely nothing about morphology. GL w/ your appointment on Tuesday, I hope the results/action plan is explained well to you! Also, LOL to the looking at bleeding vag comment. I had a transvaginal ultrasound on Monday...CD3. So mortifying. I felt like a dog, bleeding freely all over the place. Oh the humanity.
@septca: Great news about your networking meeting!
@dc yoga bee: Sorry about AF And I see you've gotten some great responses about the pap, but I'll still respond. My doctor will not do a pap if I'm menstruating. Also, he informed me this past year that since I've had 6 normal paps in a row, I can switch to having a pap every other year. My insurance still covers a yearly pap, and I don't mind them, so I'll probably stick to my yearly pap!
@mrs bunchy: Nice! So jealous, I'm in dire need of a vacation. If you don't mind me asking, where are you planning on staying? I've always wanted to travel to Clearwater (or anywhere in FL - I've never been!)
@bhbee: I've been thinking about you - I hope your 2nd beta tomorrow is super, super, high!!
@LindsayInNY: Ahhh, love the Hunger Games meme! Hilarious.

So FF just gave me crosshairs at CD19 but I think my opks were darkest at CD20 which means I think I should O at CD21/22 (yesterday and today). Oh I also added in my opk results to FF because I was antsy and didn't want to wait anymore.
It hasn't changed my calendar to dops numbers, which it usually does when I just had opks before. So maybe all my information is confusing FF?

I just realized something: our anniversary is 5/23. Three years ago, we found out we were pregnant 2 days before our anniversary, but we lost it super early (it might have been a chemical, I tested a couple of days before my period was due and started bleeding a couple of days after it was due). It was my first cycle on clomid. We skipped the next cycle and conceived Liam the cycle after that.
AF is due 5/21. So, if I get a BFP, which I think is unlikely as we only BD on CD 8 and CD 10 (I'm CD 16 now, last cycle I O'd on CD 13, the cycle before CD 14), I will probably be terrified that it won't stick. Oh, who am I kidding, I'll be terrified of that no matter what.

@septca: I can post one when I get home in like forever hours from now. Well really like 9 hours from now.
@mrs. tictactoe: *big hugs*

@Raindrop: I was gonna request a link too FF might change in a couple days. Did you just have a temp rise? What if you plug in fake future high temps? Does your O date change? For example, if you look at my chart, it says I Oed on CD15 which is before my +OPK. If I plug in high temps for 2 more days, it changes to CD17. Maybe that's what's happening with you? Chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/LindsayInNY

@mrs. tictactoe: 5/23 is our anniversary, too Hoping you'll get a beautiful, sticky
this time.

@LindsayInNY: Thanks for the info!! I only use FF on my phone and I can't use my phone at work. Booo. I will definitely link tonight and try to input a fake high temp to see if that pushes FF to change my crosshairs. My temp went down a little today but I can't remember to what right now.

@doxielove: Bleeding dog!! Bahahahahaha. At least your doctor's knew what they were in for when they require a CD3 ultrasound. Totally out of your control on that one!
@Raindrop: I don't use FF for anything except marking the first day of AF and a positive digital OPK so I can't help you out. So sorry! But
@mrs. tictactoe: I'm so sorry that you are reminded of your previously chemical pregnancy. I hope you still enjoy your anniversary. Any plans?
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@mrs. tictactoe: hugs I went through something similar . . . my first and fourth chemical were exactly 3 years apart and the timing was not lost on me. I do think it's just really hard after any losses. I just keep trying to remind myself that whether this baby is sticky is not under my control and so it's not worth my energy to worry (excessively) about it.
blogger / pomegranate / 3201 posts
@Raindrop: @LindsayInNY: @HeartAbandoned: @MrsMcD: @bhbee: Thanks, ladies. Hugs back!!
No plans yet. It's 5 years, so kind of a big one, but money is tight, so I'm not sure what we'll do.
