I updated myself to May 23 (from May 31). Yay for a normalish cycle this month!

Thanks for all the info ladies.
@LindsayInNY: I've had a really short LP ever since we started TTC #2, 8 months ago. I'm almost positive it's due to the fact that I'm still BFing my son, but I'm interested in what my options will be if we end up hitting the year mark and going to my Dr to get some help.
I don't even know if progesterone will be an option if I'm BFing still - but just wondering what other's experiences have been.

I'm not a momma to be. 11DPO and AF is here right on time. We will get another chance this month, so I can test again May 31st. I don't know if I can still get my annual tomorrow on CD 2??

@dc yoga bee: sorry You might want to call your doctor and let them know your period started - I don't think they can do pap smears during your period.
Hope the end of May is better for you!
@Mrs Bunchy: sounds like fun!

@Keppa: Ahh, gotcha. How short are we talking?
@dc yoga bee: Sorry Not sure about the exam... They might not be able to do the pap but at least you could talk TTC if you want? I think they CAN do a pap but it's harder to read so they try not to do it during your cycle?

@dc yoga bee: BIG HUGS, lady. I am so sorry.
Re: the exam - are you even due for a pap? (I only get them every 5 years now, but based on the new guidance I think it's every 3 years if you are under 30). I know how stressed you are by TTC and how hard it was to get this appointment. Since you really just want to talk to them about TTC, I would go anyway, but I would call ahead and let them know it's CD2.

@Keppa: I also had shorter LPs while BFing, but they lengthened as we cut feeds. It was also my experience that I could not get KU while BFing. I know lots of people do, but my body was showing me (through my chart) that it just wasn't ready... it wasn't until the cycle *after* I completely weaned that my cycle went back to my normal. RE: progesterone, I *think* you can take it while BFing. I was on a heavy dose of P as BCP/endometriosis prevention from 2-9 months pp. It made me a complete raving lunatic, but it didn't affect my supply.

@bhbee: Thinking of you. How are things this morning? Do you have any plans to run a beta?
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@septca: going in at 10:30. home test today looked good so we'll see what happens next . . . I won't get results until tomorrow and then really won't know anything until the second Fri or Sat.

@bhbee: ((hugs)) I loathe betas with the passion of a thousand suns for exactly those reasons... but I am glad you will have concrete numbers. Sending you a lot of love and even more hope.

So, btw... this is a totally random and self-serving post, but you ladies are the only ones I really can/want to share it with: I think I am back to a healthy mentality about my CP last cycle. Maybe it's because I am gearing up to O, or maybe it's just time... but I find myself legitimately excited for POAS announcements again and can say that I am 100% genuine in my hope for ladies stressing over faint lines or betas. It's hard to admit, but that isn't always the case for me. Sometimes - and especially lately, because of my CP - the bitterness creeps in and spreads its darkness everywhere. Today, though, I am happy to say that I am in the light again.

@dc yoga bee: huge hugs sweetness! If you want to get bloodworkmdone done I think it's usually cd2 or 3 so perhaps you can request that? I hope you have treats planned.

@dc yoga bee: *hugs* I am sorry.
@mrs bunchy: Thanks lady!! Yay vacation!
@LindsayInNY: Here is another fun OPK picture
@septca: Good to hear
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@septca: I'm totally with you - there are dark days every cycle and I will have many if this doesn't work out. But I do find it easier here and the if threads to be genuinely thrilled for people.
bananas / 9229 posts
@Raindrop: It's hard to compare once they dry because they tend to dry darker than how the look at the time. It looks like your surge started on CD20. I find once I've fully Oed, the OPK gets significantly lighter. I would think tomorrow (CD22) morning, it would be?
grapefruit / 4731 posts
@LindsayInNY: I think you are right CD 20 was the darkest line. I remember it being darkest when wet too. Also while dry the one at 8am is the only full dark line. All the lines under it are dark... but they aren't fully filled out lines... I hope that makes sense. So I think my surge was yesterday. So I will probably O today or tomorrow I think. Thank you for your input! We will see if the line is lighter tomorrow.
When I did OPKs a long time ago (6 months ago) I remember that my surge was always 2 days or so. So this is not uncommon for me ... I think.
I'm not sure if it matters but my temp .01 degrees higher than yesterday. I'm not sure what a high temp is for me since this is the first time temping.
I also hope this isn't a false surge because this would make my period cycle almost normal at 32-34 days. Instead of the 35-46 days I have had for the last 5 or so months.
bananas / 9229 posts
@Raindrop: The temp rise post-O is usually around 0.5 degrees. Sometimes it's a gradual rise. Here are my past charts, if they help: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/LindsayInNY

@LindsayInNY: Thanks for sharing your charts. I love looking at these things.

I'm pretty sure that AF is on her way. I'm out. And not surprised or upset at all given DH's SA results. Onward and upward! I hope my Tuesday WTF appointment gives me some good info.
@dc yoga bee: Sorry you are out, also. At least you get another shot this month! As for the pap... I personally avoid having anyone look directly at or into my vag when its bleeding.
@mrs bunchy: Lucky girl! A vacation sounds so nice!!
@septca: I get an annual well woman exam (i.e., pap and breast exam) every year.
@bhbee: I'm keeping you in my thoughts! That beta number seems good and strong to me!!
@septca: I'm so happy you are feeling good again about things. I'm sorry that you ever have to feel badly about anything baby-making related.
@Raindrop: I see CD20 as the darkest line, also.

@MrsMcD: *hugs* I'm sorry. You are still not out so I'll keep you in my thoughts.

@MrsMcD: Hoping for answers and a clear plan to come from your Tuesday appt! GL!
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@MrsMcD: That's so interesting! Have you ever had an abnormal pap? I have not, and a few years ago they told me I only them every 3 years from now on... then last year they said I could go to every 5 years. I still have an annual well woman visit, they just don't do the pap. I thought that was now standard procedure.
And I am so sorry about AF. I understand what you are saying, but AF is no fun regardless.
grapefruit / 4731 posts
@septca: I wonder if it's a hospital thing? After I got married - late 20s. My OB said since I now have just one partner that every 3 years for me was good enough. I also never had an abnormal result. But all my GFs that have the same hospital as me told me that is what happened to them after they got married/engaged.
grapefruit / 4731 posts
@septca: LOL Sorry i didn't mean hospital base practice. I mean maybe practice by practice the rules are different. I haven't talked to anyone that has a different plan than mines about this. So I was just kind of throwing out an idea.
GOLD / pomegranate / 3938 posts
@Raindrop: @HeartAbandoned: Thanks girls. You are both so sweet.
@septca: I did once have an abnormal pap about 11 years ago. But I don't think that's why I go every year. First, when I was on birth control, I had to go every year to renew my prescription. Secondly, the exam I get is called the "annual well-woman exam". I don't think its insurance specific. I think it seems like a general health care mandate. BUT I know next to nothing about insurance so that's just my opinion. I really prefer to go every year. I like annual check up of just about any kind I can get.
