@bhbee: that is great news!!
@MrsMcD: hugs hope you're able to come up with a good plan at you WTF appointment if this month doesn't work out.
@septca: I've had a pap at my annual every year too! At the most recent one they told me if it was normal I could wait 3 years for the next one though.
I'm also happy to hear you're getting back to a healthy mentality

@septca: I totally understand the bitterness thing, it creeps up on me too. Big hugs, and I am glad you are back into a better head space.
@Raindrop: I love your method or writing down the dates and times! I need to do that too, its easy to forget when i took them. Great idea!
@dc yoga bee: @MrsMcD: Hugs, I'm sorry. I'm out too. I'll have a drink in honor of you tonight.
I wasn't even feeling hopeful this month due to poor timing, but I am still sad that I am out. Meh.
I am *dreading* mothers day. If we had gotten lucky right away, I'd have a baby by now. If I hadn't had a MC, I would be just getting into my final trimester. As it stands, I will be "celebrating" Mothers day with AF, while pretending to be happy with the family.
How are you all handling it?

@bhbee: Woooo!! That's awesome!!!
@mrsmcd: "I personally avoid having anyone look directly at or into my vag when its bleeding." <- I cannot stop LOLing. I call for an annual appointment every year and it includes a pap. I had an irregular one 7-8 years ago. But I never questioned why they do it or asking them to stop?

@LindsayInNY: Glad someone found that funny and not just completely inappropriate!
@Crystal: This is absolutely a w(h)ine night!
Mother's Day doesn't really bother me at all. Maybe I'm just dead inside!

@MrsMcD: You're not out just yet! And I echo the ladies--I hope you get a great plan at your WTF appt!
@Crystal: Hugs, friend. Honestly, Thanksgiving and Christmas (the more traditional family holidays) get to me so much more than Mother's Day. I think it's easier to spend Mother's Day doing something with your DH, and the day's over, where as the other 2 are much bigger, in-your-face days that almost always include people gushing over babies etc.
My count from beta #1 (12dpo) was a 66 and my progesterone was nice and high at 31! I went this morning for beta #2 so we'll see tomorrow afternoon!

@septca: Haha you were teasing me! I'm kind of slow on the internets.
@Crystal: I'm sorry. Boooooo. I'm glad someone likes my method of opk tracking.
@MrsMcD: Haha dead inside. I never liked mother's day. My bday always gets lumped in with it and it always feels like my mom's day rather than my day. It feels like she hogs her bday and my bday! I know I know "bitter much". Even after having an LO it still feels like it's all about her. I mean I love my mom and so I have conceded that it is in fact her day.

@septca: I've also been told by my doctor a pap is every 3 years, unless you've had an abnormal. I also learned from a couple girls out here that they don't/won't start giving pap's until you're 21! Back in myyyyyy day, you had to get one every year from the age you became sexually active.

@Raindrop: Since I'm 99.9% sure I'm out this month, I thought to myself (and now to all of you), "Gees... thank god I don't have to have a January baby and share my wedding anniversary with the kid's birthday." Silver linings.....
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@MrsMcD: no, not inappropriate. I definitely spit water all over my keyboard. Not boring, this group.
Appropo of nothing, my mil comes tomorrow. I am drinking all the wine tonight.
GOLD / pomegranate / 3938 posts
@septca: Hahahaha. That would suck to have MIL and AF show on the same day.
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@MrsMcD: You seriously crack me up. After the time we both posted about buying alcohol and pregnancy tests at the same time, I've thought we should hang out. We can do Disneyland, 90s-style, lol.
@septca: Eeek, good luck with that. My parents and my ILs live about 15 mins away, so we see them frequently, but thank goodness they never come to stay.
@Kelli_Deluxe: Good point, those holidays are hard too.
I am just feeling a little bitter today- no even hope for a baby during Mothers Day, and the only LOs I would have to hold on to are someone elses. We usually get comments about when we will start our own families on MD, and its hard enough to not let them get to me when I'm not hormonal.
GOLD / pomegranate / 3938 posts
@Crystal: We will definitely hang out soon. Maybe tell your family on Sunday that you are having issues. When do you think you will talk to your doctor or have your guy get a SA?

@MrsMcD: I have been feeling weird the last couple days, not how I normally feel before AF. Hopefully that's a good sign!

@MrsMcD: It's kind of weird we have a 9 day dead zone for POAS. What will we do during that week?! Hehe.

@Marfi: Different is good!! FX!
@MrsMcD: I think my MIL will use it against me, and also make it public knowledge, so I doubt we will ever share with her... DH just isn't ready to acknowledge anything, so I have given him a deadline of the end of the summer. I need to figure out what my insurance will cover too.

@Raindrop: Oh crap! May 13-20 has no testers!! Can some girls just test for fun? I have my WTF appointment on the 13th so I'll post about that. Then we should have some girls commencing BDing storms around the 15th. (ahem.... @Crystal: and @dcyogabee: ) So I suppose we could come up with some funny sex stories to hold us over. And @mrs. tictactoe: , feel free to test as early as you want. We will all be here to support you!

@MrsMcD: @Crystal: I wanna come to Disney too!! I completely interjected myself into this buuuut we really should meet up
@Marfi: Fx crossed for you!

@MrsMcD: haha, no way, Jose! I probably will test late.
Not temping this cycle has me feeling very detached from the whole TTC process, which was the point, so I guess it's good. It's just weird to not know when exactly I ovulated and how good or bad our BD timing is.
GOLD / pomegranate / 3938 posts
@Crystal: Oh gosh. Then yes, keep all this to yourself and HB! Gently push your DH. The SA is so easy to do and its great to know what you are dealing with on that end.
GOLD / pomegranate / 3938 posts
@mrs. tictactoe: Okay then. Silly sex stories it is!
As for not temping and feeling detached, I can understand that. I think I'm not going to use OPKs anymore since morph entered my world a few days ago. But lady... just BD when you can and that should keep you feeling connected enough.

@mrs. tictactoe: That reminds me of the intimacy board thread- people have sex just for fun still? lol

@MrsMcD: I *may* get a POAS date in that window... Depending on when FF thinks I Oed, Sunday the 18th would be 11DPO (and the day before I start the new job)...
bananas / 9229 posts
What the heck! I guess I'll try and fill in the POAS gap...

Lurker popping up again! *raises hand* I know the answer the pap thing. There was a recent change in the professional guidelines about how often they should be done. The major shift was in 2010 or 2011 and there have been little tweaks since then. These are the current guidelines (https://www.acog.org/About_ACOG/Announcements/New_Cervical_Cancer_Screening_Recommendations)
However, a lot of providers aren't up to date on the current recommendations or don't completely agree with them. And some providers are still doing annual paps because insurance companies are still willing to *pay* them for annual paps.
I think once the insurance companies stop routinely paying out every year then the doctors who have a minor disagreement with the new protocols will give in, and those that are only doing it to pad their wallets will definitely give it up.

@lilyofthewest: Damn. My gyno is either padding her wallet or behind on medical updates!

@LindsayInNY: Bahahahahah!!!!!!!!!! Only inappropriate if you are suggesting I'm being molested... Oh gees... you've all given me a lot to think about on Tuesday morning. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
