    @Crystal: I haven't gone back to acupuncture in a couple weeks... It was hard to fit in my schedule. And I just don't know how I feel about it messing with my cycle like this...

    @littlek: I also picked my obgyn based on what hospital I want to deliver a baby at. I entirely switched my medical group for that reason. The hospital is pretty far from my home and difficult to get to. Whatevs. I like nice, clean, new, and good care.

    @MrsMcD: That's not uncommon. I live in the south bay and the hospital in our insurance group updated the birthing ward near us when we had our first/only kid. My OB said people from San Francisco came to that hospital just for the new clean private rooms for birthing and recovery. San Francisco is a 40 minute drive with no traffic. It is more like a 2+ hour drive during rush hour.

    On that note. I gave birth during a peak time. I did give birth in a nice new birthing room... it was big and clean. But I ended up in a shared pediatrics room for my recovery because all the nice new private mother's recovery rooms were booked up. Seriously I gave birth during a full moon or something... it was a crazy night.

    @Raindrop: That's such a fun story to share. I can't hardly imagine the circumstances making it feel like a full moon kind of night.

    @MrsMcD: Haha. It was a very crazy night. When you give birth this is the order of how you are seen at the hospital I was at.

    1. Waiting room - this is were family members wait for you to give birth but you usually wait till an observation room opens up. Normally observation rooms are open and you go in right away but the crazy night I gave birth there were no observation rooms when I came in.

    2. Observation room - this is a very small room... only really a bed can fit in it there is a chair next to the bed but that was it. We waited there for 2 hours till someone checked me out and said yup you are giving birth... admit this person. Then you get transferred to the labor/birthing room ... none were open so I had to wait in the observation room for about 4 hours till one open. - Side story we found out later that someone gave birth in an observation room that night!

    3. Labor/Birthing room - you give birth in this room... since this was new there was a private bathroom and area for the baby when they are born.

    4. Recovery room - this is the room you stay in for 2-3 days with your baby. Again crazy night they had none of these so were sent to a pedis room and it was shared.

    We knew it was crazy because the doctors and nurses were like what's gone on tonight! Why so many people? I overheard one doctor telling a nurse to call all the people being schedule to be induced not to come.

    Another crazy thing with us... was someone had the exact same last name as us that night and they had to put a special alert on our door so that doctors and nurses which of us they were treating... there were two pairs like that during our night.

    Crazy night!

    @mrs. tictactoe: Hey just wanted to point out the other POAS thread OP is KU. Kind of going with the trend of OPs of POAS threads get KU. Don't break the streak... no pressure.

    @Raindrop: hahaha, I am being a Creepy Creeperson with this thread and rooting for all of you... and it took a minute for me to figure out who you were talking about (me!), so I wanted to come clean - that's why I started it! Someone pointed it out with @snowjewelz in April and I figured I'd give it a try

    Hope it works for @mrs. tictactoe too - and I hope this is a very lucky month for all of you!!!

    @Raindrop: that is crazy there were so many people in labor at your hospital!

    @keepcalmcarrie: congrats!!!!

    I think the progesterone is finally getting to me - I've been tearing up at the littlest thing today, and that is totally not like me. But I'm thankful that and sleepiness have been the only side effects so far!

    @dc yoga bee: @MrsMcD: Thanks for your concern! Still no AF. I have been a little more weepy today but sometimes I will do that with PMS (not much as of late), but it's been a long day with lots of little things going wrong. I won a free drink ticket at an event tonight, which I gave to someone else, so of course, I won't be pregnant. I think my temp will be down tomorrow, because after 12 times of hoping, it never works out, so it is hard to get my hopes up. I talked to DH on the phone tonight, and he said that we would just have to wait and see. That is so much easier for him to say!

    I am SO APPRECIATIVE of you ladies. It is so oddly comforting to know that people far away are hoping that I get a BFP.

    AF came. I am ok except freaking out that we are now onto cycle 14, that my iud was removed late May, so we are coming up on the year mark. In my head: 1 year= IF=never going to happen. I don't want to do IUI or IVF (no judgment to others), so feeling hopeless.

    @LindsayInNY: I tried accupuncture for the first time a few months ago and I had a 17 day cycle. It scared the hell out of me. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence or not. Since then, I went regularly and it did not affect my cycle.

  24. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

    @AmeliaBedilia: ((hugs)) I'm sorry.

    @littlek: The first cycle when I started acupuncture was fine. I think I started just around O though? This time I went until just up to O before stopping (vacation, etc.) Like you said, I don't know if the changed cycle was because of acupuncture, a coincidence or what. But not cool!

    I was going to respond to your other thread about what is missed while parenting. I have a thought, and I don't even have a child yet! Now, disclaimer: I promise I am not a lush! So, each month when AF arrives, I "treat" myself by going out for margaritas with DH. AF will be here tomorrow - queue the Saturday afternoon margaritas!! NOT. I realized this morning that we'd already promised BIL and SIL we'd babysit for them tomorrow evening. Babysitting while buzzed = no bueno! Looks like I'll have to skip the margaritas tomorrow. So, there! An example of why "parenting" sometimes sucks (Stupid, I know!)

    @Crystal: The hospital was the most important thing for me. And with my type of insurance, it wasn't hard to pick hospital first, then doctor. I picked the hospital based upon my friends' experiences and considered these hospitals: Hoag, St. Joseph and St. Jude. I didn't consider Kaiser for personal preference only. Hoag wins hands down for the mother's experience, including things like parking and check in process. If you want specific details, I will let you know on your wall.

    @MrsMcD: Haha your plan is good too... I don't know about @doxielove: but I'm a super light weight! That wouldn't work for me.

    Seriously as much as margaritas are super tasty I would be totally drunk after 5 sips. Yes 5 sips! I can do 2 sips of a hard liquor and about half a beer. It's tough being a light weight!

    Margaritas for everyone! (And a daiquiri for @lindsayinny)

    @Raindrop: I get seriously buzzed off of one. 2 will completely put me on my ass lol.
