We're having an apps type platter: local raw oysters, lobster salad, roast beef and cheese, goat cheese with olive oil and roasted garlic and salami. Yum!

Apps: garlic crostini with queso de cabra
Dinner: crab, smashed potatoes, Parmesan roasted zucchini and broccoli, and herbed bread knots.
Dessert: champagne and sorbet

@regberadaisy: we are so lucky here with our grocery stores. Our local grocery store is this awesome little market that carries tons of cheeses and local organic meats, fresh lobsters, a few types of local oysters, etc and even had a wine cellar! Lol

Appetizers for dinner: veggies with hummus, cheese/crackers, chips/guac/salsa/beans, veg dumplings, and some snacks and cake.

We went to a party and had roasted suckling pig (a whole pig roast) with a variety of appetizers and sides. I dont think I managed to try it all.
Today we'll eat traditional hoppin john, greens and cornbread. Bleh. Why can't southerners have better lucky New Years foods?

We went out to dinner with some friends. DH had some duck and I had veal. It was so good.
Now to bring luck for 2015, I'm making pork & sauerkraut today.

We went out for a restaurant tasting menu!
First course: An oyster, Alaskan king crab, uni
Second course: Escargots
Third course: Quail stuffed with cabbage and mushroom
Fourth course: Braised lamb
Fifth course: Duck breast, foie gras and a baby sweet potato
Dessert: Moon pie!
We started off with a cocktail, and then there was a wine pairing with dinner.
It was so nice to go out on a real date!
