We got Poppy from Trolls; she has a song in her hand and we did pajamas, a skirt, and some rain boots. It was like $85 but broke the binky habit, so I convinced my husband it was worth it.

Haha oh dear....the only time we’ve paid at Build-a-Bear (I.e. not a party/company function), I bought gift cards from Retailmenot at a discount. I bought $75 worth for around $60 and told my two kids they could each get a critter and split whatever was left on accessories. I steered them towards non-licensed animals, so they each ended up with a critter, a leash, and a tutu, I think. So we didn’t go all out, but I liked having a limit!!

I was planning on taking my son there for his bday because we have a $25 gift card but maybe I’ll hold off on that for a bit...

@LadyDi: If you take him on his actual birthday, I think he can get a bear for the price of his age, so then you can put the $25 toward accessories? My mother and husband took my LO on her last birthday, though, so I have no idea . . .

@lady baltimore: I need to look into this. The problem is convincing him to get the birthday bear once we’re actually in the store

@helloperidot: I was actually wanting her to get the heartbeat and a smell but dh said no..lol....but then he lost his mind with the shoes and skates!!! I was like omg... I was steering DD towards a normal bear but dh comes outta nowhere with "but then it won't skate right "... I was like shut up!!!! Lol
@PinkElephant: DD will.be asking for gift cards if she ever wants to go again
@LadyDi: yes you can get the birthday bear for his birthday year price but it's all the darn accessories that get ya and it's one of those stores where the prices are not clearly labeled 🤦♀️so you got no clue until you check out

@JennyLayneAZ: it is cute and she loves it @Petitduck: lol... Honestly the animal and an outfit probably would be reasonable....just don't get freaking shoes and skates!!! And of course the skates have to attach to the shoes so you have to buy both

@Ajsmommy: LOL couldn’t agree more. $50 to walk in the door 🙄 When we were little they didn’t have scents and all the add ons! That business model is a good one ... haha

We just went there on Thursday and it was $55 for a Chase with sounds and a really lame outfit. I was not impressed and we won't be back. My DS loves his chase though

We went with parents and girls. My parents paid. We did Princess Poppy and Chaee for the paw patrol. Two outfits each and some shoes and it was around $200. Safe to say, they probably won't go again. At least not on my dime lol

Oh Lord, never going there if it's not for a party lol! I was tempted to take them last year for their birthdays since you can pay your age.
I think I'd just have to have a hard limit to what accessories they can get... But I'm sure in the moment, it's hard!

We’ve only been once for my girls to make a welcome home gift for their (then) baby brother. They chose a teddy bear and put in a heartbeat hug, but they didn’t pick any accessories. It was only $19. I had no idea the accessories were so overpriced! That’s an awfully cute skating unicorn though
