As requested here's a picture of our little cutie that we brought home yesterday! After a long drive we all finally made it last night. It was a long night though, neither DH or I got good sleep at all! But it's totally worth it 
He's just under 3 months old, and weighs probably 25-30 lbs. He's a chocolate lab/Australian Blue Heeler mix.

Thanks! He really is a sweetheart! We're going to give him a bath today, so wish us luck there. But so far potty trained is going good, only 1 accident so far!

@MrsBrewer: Oh wow-- that's awesome about the potty training! Hopefully since you are starting baths so young he won't mind. My dog hates them-- he behaves but he stands there like we are torturing him and gives us these sad sorrowful looks the whole time.

He is so cute! I'm normally a little scared/uneasy about larger breed dogs, but he really is super cute!

As for the bath, an experienced dog owner told me if you're putting them in a shower, have a bath mat down so they don't freak out about slipping. She smears peanut butter on the wall for him to lick off and be distracted.....I guess PB on a spatula would be cleaner.

@REESE: ummm.....they are still living! Hahaha so that's a good thing right? We had them separated at first, but the. The cats kept on coming in the kitchen, and Bear was doing great, so were letting him roam the house for now. Still sleeping in his crate at night, and when we are away though.
Although...we are having one issue. I might start another post about it. Basically we have one of the litter boxes in the spare bedroom of ours, and the 2 times Bear has gone in there, he kind of smells around, by the litter box, then pees on the carpet next to it. Is he trying to mark his territory? What can I do to stop?! Ugh..

Omg I'm in love!! In response to your question, I don't think he's marking his territory as he is too young to understand that type of stuff - I think the smell of cat urine is simply making him want to go. Not sure what you can do to stop it, you will just have to constantly watch him when he is freely roaming, and make sure he is going out like every hour or as often as you can possibly manage, so even if he feels like going, he won't be able to near the litter box! At 3 months old, they could prob hold it for around 3 hours maximum, so I would definitely try to take him out every 3 hours at the minimum. Puppies are soooo much work but they are so worth it aren't they?? I am so jealous!!!!

@chibee: Thank you for your response. I think you are 100% right! We actaully just blocked off that room with a baby gate. The cats and either go under the gate or jump over to get to the littler box, plus we have another one upstairs for them (the puppy hasn't ventured up there yet!) So I'm sure they will be fine! But yea since we've kept him out of there he hasn't had an accident yet.
