@rattles: I like classic names that can also have cute nicknames. I'm also a big fan of names meaning something. My favorite boys' names are Matthew and Cyrus, and other top girl contenders are Amelia, Lucy, and Maeve. We really wanted a saint's name in there somewhere, but there is no saint Imogen. Part of its charm, though, is that it means "beloved child." I really like that.

FWIW, it's Celtic in origin, and I've toyed with a Celtic middle name too. Just not sure.

@marionberry: I love Catherine, but that might get confusing...there ate lots of them on both sides of my family. Same with Elizabeth.

@grizz: I hadn't considered using Amelia as a middle name. That was our front runner first name for a long time. Might work as a middle!

Rose, Clare, Margaret, and Maeve are my favorites, I think. So muxh to think about!

We're still TG, but we've been playing with girl's names first. Not really any family names to speak of. I've had Agnes in my head for a while for a whole host of names. I think it is a beautiful middle name!

@debbiei8: Immy is what we would use, I think, but I don't know how we would spell it.

Thanks for all the positive feedback I was really nervous about a) posting this, and b) even considering this name, for fear everyone would think it was too weird. But I'm getting a little excited to think we may have found a girl's name, even if the middle name is still up in the air!

ETA: another one I thought of was Lucy, but I'm not sure if we want to hold that in reserve for another future LO's potential first name. But it would be pretty, too!
