If you had photos taken, what increments did you have them done at? (Not including newborn)

6, 12, 18. We'll have some done at 2 also, and then every year probably.

Last year we did a photoshoot when she was 9 months old (and newborn). Her birthday is in December so we will probably try to do it once a year in the Fall.

Well, we intended to to newborn, 3, 6, 9, 12. Turns out we did newborn, 3 months and 12 months. Oops.

We did newborn with one photographer. Then we found another and she changed the package for us: 4m, 8m, 12m, and 18m (instead of newborn).

Not answering for my own kid since she isn't here yet, but as a photog most people who book packages book newborn/3/6/9/12 (sometimes maternity too). I've had 1 person book newborn/4/8/12 and one person book newborn/6/12 and one person book newborn/6/12/18.

@Mae: Our photographer doesn't like to do 3,6,9,&12. She says cause then you could have 2 sessions where the babies isn't able to sit up. I see her point there. That is why we decided to do 4, 8,12, and 18

@Smurfette: I will admit that 3 or 4 mo photos are generally my least favorite. It's hard when babies are too big/alert for "sleepy baby" type photos and not yet big enough to really sit up. But I haven't really had an issue with 6mo photos. Generally they can either sit up on their own or they can sit in props/on my prop couch/be leaned on something to be somewhat upright. Plus I think it's fun to see the progression from newborn (sleepy baby pic) to 3 mo (first hints of personality) to 6 mo (omg sitting up) to 9 mo (looking more like a toddler now and either sitting up really well or standing while holding onto something) to 12 mo (walking). But I'm happy to do whatever! My standard packages are nb/3/6/9/12, nb/4/8/12, or nb/6/12 but most people just pick the biggest package.

We will probably do 12 months, but we bought a DSLR when LO was born so we could (attempt) to take our own.

We did newborn, 6 month, and 12 month. That seemed good to me, I wouldn't have wanted 3 month or 9 month.

@Mae: Good points! I know for R's at 4 months, she propped her in a bucket and they are some of my favorite pics from the session. I have no idea how she is going to do R's 12 months ones in two weekends. She is walking and we can't get her to sit or stand still for a second!

@Mae: I just hope she is in a better mood. Her 9 month, despite just waking up from a nap, she was not happy at all. There were only a handful we really liked.

One year, then 18 mths ( groupon deal that I couldn't resist). Just had her 2 year photos done, and will continue them yearly.

Just 12 month. We had family photos taken when she was 4 months old, but they were holiday pics so not for the specific purpose of milestone photos.

I voted 4,8,12 but really it was more like 3, 7.5, 12... just the way it fell.

@Smurfette: @Mae: our photographer said the same thing about baby being too alert but not able to really hold themselves up. I'm hoping since E is already holding herself up and rolling over that we will still be able to get some good shots at 3 months.

3, 6, 9, 12. I'm LOVING every second. Just look at the difference from newborn to 3 months!

We did Newborn/2-3 month (Christmas) and do 6-7 month (Spring/easter) and 1 year

@MrsH: SO WORTH IT to me. Obviously 3 months is probably the photog's least fave (they can't sit unassisted but aren't "moldable" like newborns) but a good photog still can get great stuff... we did a bunch of laying down ones like this, too.
We do 6 month pics in a month and I cannotttttttttt wait to see how different she is!

@kjpugs: I apparently need to get shopping for outfits your LO looks sooooooooo cute!

@MrsH: thanks! Check out Gap's sales... you can get really cute stuff there! That gold onesie was really cheap just random at Buy Buy Baby. So exciting! You'll have to share the pics with me after
