We primarily BF but supplement with a 4oz bottle at bedtime. My initial thought on introducing milk was at 13 months. But I'm wondering if I'm better off giving milk after 12 months rather than formula?
Thoughts?

I started with cows milk somewhere between 13 and 15 months, I don't remember any more and I tossed all my records. I had some formula that we needed to use and there was no way I was throwing it out!
I also gave LO cows milk yogurt during that time and he ate some cheese, but he wasn't a fan.

We went to cow's milk, but the toddler formula's were just coming out then so I am not sure if the reccomendations have changed or not.

My SIL went to cow's milk the day her DS and DD turned one. Not sure what the actual recommendations are though - I have a long way until I have to worry about that.

My pediatrician warned strongly against toddler formula. I plan on switching to milk when LO turns one (probably not cows milk). Maybe we will begin at 11m, mixing the two to transition.

My son went to cow's milk at 12 months. I don't want to give formula companies my money if I can avoid it. (Sorry, but it's true.) I think follow-on formulas are a racket.

I'd say milk. We started DD on almond milk at 11ish months in her sippy.

I want to start transitioning to cows milk at 11 months - half and half - so I can be done pumping at 12 months.

@plantains: he said it is like a baby version of a milkshake...basically too much sugar, fat & calories & that they are better off (nutritionally) if they just drink water & cow's milk (along with table food, obviously). His opinion...but I'm all for it because I can't wait to be done with formula as it is, ya know?
