Does anyone have this scooter? It seems to be popular in the blogosphere. I'm wondering what makes it superior to a 34.99 scooter I can find at Target. It has quite a hefty price tag!
Thinking ahead to adding items to LO's 3rd birthday wishlist.

They are great! We bought one for DS around 18 months, but he didn't really use it until 2 years (and everyone around here has one!). If your DD is turning 3, I would suggest getting the Maxi Micro scooter instead since you can adjust the handle bar height and it goes up to a higher weight limit (120lbs, I think). At 4, DS is almost too big for his mini micro and we will probably get him a new scooter this spring.

We have a micro and dd loves it. We got it for her second birthday. It's well made and I believe you can sell it close to value. There was a little bit of a learning curve for dd she didn't understand she needed to lean to turn but she scoots like a champ! You can google a coupon for the site I was able to find a 20% off one.
I too would recommend getting the bigger one for you lo

@regberadaisy: DD got the Maxi Micro for Christmas as an upgrade from a $30 supermarket one (she's turning 5 soon). The supermarket one was a good start because I didn't know how into scooters she would be, but she got quite frustrated after a while because the steering is not at all intuitive and they don't go very fast. They also tip really easily - lots of skinned knees! I could not believe the difference in quality in the Micros. Sturdy as rocks, soo easy for her to turn and they go really fast. She loves it! When we were looking into scooters this was the one that everyone said to get both at our park, and online. All the glowing endorsements were true

We have a Radio Flyer scooter, it's the one with the two wheels in the front and one in the back, with a brake. We plan to upgrade to a two wheel model this spring, so I am glad we didn't spend a lot on the three wheel model.
But I guess the micro has good resale, and would last through two kids, so there's that!

The YBike scooter is also very good - similar to the micro mini (minus the OBar) and it's a little bit cheaper.

We got one for DS for Christmas. It is a lot nicer than DD's Barbie scooter. I would definitely recommend. DD's scooter was functional but clunky and she would always get her feet caught up in it.

We have one. The scootering is easy but turning is hard so it does not get much use (as opposed to his balance bike). I wish he got one with the single wheel in front and two wheels in back.

We have it. Got it on sale. My friend bought one used off of our neighborhood listserv. LO got it for her 2nd birthday. Mainly because it's the one EVERY kid in my neighborhood had and she kept trying to steal them at the playground.
Seems really sturdy and like it will last through multiple kids or be sold when she grows out of it. Can't compare it to the Target one. I mean I'm sure the Target one is just fine it's just like comparing an inexpensive umbrella stroller to an Uppa Baby. Both are fine, but you pay a little more for quality if that matters to you.

@regberadaisy: we got this scooter for DD recently (on sale for $18) and it has awesome reviews! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FK7C2E/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

@looch: this is the one we got DD on your rec! i couldn't stomach the price of the mini micro if i wasn't sure she would love it... and even then, i'm not sure i could!

@birdofafeather: has your child tried it yet? My son had it down by the 3rd time.

We got one for C's 2nd birthday and she still doesn't feel confident on it. She'll scoot reaaaallllly slowly, and doesn't know how to turn yet. Luckily, we got it as a gift and H is 2 years younger, so we'll get more use out of it, but I would've been bummed if I paid full price for one kid to use it.

@Mrs. High Heels: how does she like it? I'm thinking about this one for dd and my nephew's 3rd birthday.
I can't drop $100+ on a scooter!

@Mrs. High Heels: @regberadaisy: is that going to work for a 3 year old who's never been on a scooter? It seems like it's for an older kid?

@mediagirl: I don't know. I'm still waffling between a 2 wheel or 3 wheel. My M is a little uncoordinated sometimes! And I guess even if she outgrows the 3 wheel by this summer it can go to baby sister in 2 years
The description does say 5+ and the lil 3 wheel version is 3+.

@mediagirl: @mediagirl: Yea, the scooter I got is probably too advanced for a 3 year old. I think it's great for most 4 year olds, and it's really great quality. I was amazed at how nice it is for the price - and I love that it folds up flat. DD loves hers, but gets scared of being off balance. She has a SUPER cautious personality though.

@Mrs. High Heels: thanks! It's such a great price now I'm tempted to buy it now for next year and store in the basement.

@regberadaisy: omg it's even cheaper now that it was when I got it. i got it for $17... i can't believe it's only $15!

@Mrs. High Heels: haha yup! I'm wondering if it'll get that low again in a year's time....

@regberadaisy: if you put it in camelcamelcamel it will tell you how the price has fluctuated over the course of a year. http://camelcamelcamel.com/Razor-A-Kick-Scooter-Pink/product/B000FK7C2E
looks like this is the lowest its ever been!!
