LO will be 2 soon. DH wanted to get her the classic Radio Flyer tricycle. I wanted to get her a 3-wheel mini scooter that grows with her. But we started to research and also like the balance bikes (not the wooden ones). We can't decide which one is best for her age.
In our neighborhood we mostly see kids on scooters but I've heard those are more accident prone. I rarely see trikes at the park.
Any suggestions from parents who have purchased any of these items for their little ones?

We had an assortment of things, a traditional tricycle, those trikes with the parent pushing handle thing and a vintage ride on pony that used to be mine.
My son gravitates towards the trike with the parent pushing handle, not that he lets me steer it or anything. I think he likes it because it is low to the ground compared to the trike and he likes to "zoom" it.

@mrsjazz: I'd let her try a few out, in that case, see what she prefers. We got all of our outdoor stuff at a consignment sale, we might go again this year to check out the assortment.

I would say Balance Bike, they are all the rage in our neighborhood. We have a balance bike and trike, but we live in the burbs with lots of room for outdoor toys.

We have one of each and the one that gets the most use is the tricycle. We have a wooden balance bike and my large two year old doesn't even fit on it yet.

we've had a push trike, scooter, and a balance bike. charlie never really took to the scooter, although a lot of kids do. we didn't get him a balance bike until he was a little older (3), but he loves it.

We're getting LO a balance bike for her 2nd. DH is so excited. I have a mini stroke just thinking about her taking off down the hill on it.

I ended up going with the mini micro 3n1 scooter. We saw a couple of kids on them at the park and LO seemed really interested.
I just realized that I am totally going to be one of those moms who buys things because other kids have it. Ugh,
