I didn't really pick a theme for LO's first birthday party so I was playing around with the idea of just skipping decorations altogether. It would save me a lot of money and the place we are having it is plenty colorful as it is. Would that be weird/mean to just skip the decorations?

I am going to maaaaybe have like 6 balloons for my LOs birthday next month because of exactly that--the place is plenty decorated as it is. Done, done, done!

I bought 2 bags of balloons and blew them up myself (no helium) and hung a happy birthday sign from target above his high chair. I am low maintenence
most people I know in real life do the same. No pinterest parties over here.

I think the most I did for my daughter's first birthday was get a pink tablecloth and some streamers that I hung up. Someone brought her a balloon...and that's about it!

Totally fine! I think most parties are way overdone these days anyway.... My parents never did half of the decorating that people do now and I always loved my parties

To me, there are much more important things to worry about when throwing a party and that's usually the food. Decorations are pretty much at the bottom of my list.

for a super cheap big impact idea though, i bought balloons from the dollar store, blew them up myself, and strung a thread through them to create a garland. Hung three rows from the ceiling. So festive and cost me $3!

We're toying with skipping decorations for LOs birthday next weekend. Maybe a tablecloth and balloons (to play with) but I haven't even gotten that far in the planning.

It's totally fine to skip decorations - people may not even notice because the place is colorful and kid's parties are all about the kids running around having fun.

I am not a party person, and you will never catch me decorating. My daughter will have fun and feel celebrated, and the rest doesn't matter. If you like to decorate, awesome. If not, forget about it and don't feel bad.
