I'm set to get Mirena inserted on Monday. When I made the appointment she said I had the option for them to prescribe a pill to be inserted vaginally the day before and the morning of. I can't remember the name but I believe she said it was to dilate the cervix a bit (I think, I'm not sure).

I need to call if I want it so I can pick it up in time. She said it's not necessary since I just gave birth but makes it more comfortable for some people. I'm leaning toward not getting it but was wondering if anyone used the pill? Was it necessary?
