Missed call - no voicemail

Usually. I hate listening to VM for the pointless, "call me back" message so I usually jus call the person back. Most people I know that I talk to on the phone regularly know that and don't bother with the VM.
What drives me crazy and I always ignore is the text to call without the person even trying to call me in the first place. There is just one person that does that and I hate it!

Thought this was timely... JP Morgan Chase is eliminating voicemail for a huge number of employees because no one likes it and it's inefficient for business.

@Truth Bombs: I would never leave a vmail at a business anyway - I would keep calling until someone answered

@Mamaof2: sounds like most of the people who are losing voicemail at JPM aren't client facing so they mostly just call internally to other employees meaning they are trying to reach someone specific.

@Mamaof2: but what if someone is on another call? I can't always switch over if I am currently on the other line and someone else keeps calling and calling.

I hate voicemail personally, lol, but for work, it's a necessary evil it seems.

Always. If it wasn't important, they wouldn't have called. No one just calls me to chat like I'm in high school. So if they called, it's for a reason.

@Mamaof2: Not if you're calling someone in a different city!

@Truth Bombs: See for businesses I feel like a voicemail (if the caller leaves a good, detailed message) can be helpful. They can get all their info in order before returning the call, thus making the return call shorter in the end because you already know what the person needed.

I only return the call if I know who it is. Otherwise I assume it was a wrong number or a spammy call.

@Boogs: Yes but the large majority of people would prefer to get that information in email form, rather than a voicemail. My voicemail light has been on for approximately a week and I still haven't checked it because I can see my missed call log and I know who left the voicemail and I know it's nothing I'm interested in hearing.
