EVERYONE tells us she looks like DH and nothing like me. They say she does not look Asian at all! Good things she came from ME!

They say she looks exactly like my husband, but has my hair/coloring.

@mrsjyw: That's what my mom says about C! She says she looks "just like her daddy" and nothing like me... he's white (German decent) and I'm Vietnamese. I think she looks Asian, TBH, but with lighter features.
cantaloupe / 6669 posts
She looks like both of us but she looks very African American (I am white/Hispanic). I think she will look more & more like DH's side of the family as she gets older but we'll see.

My LO is 50% White European and 50% Hispanic South American.
I don't see ANY hispanic in him, he looks totally white.
He tans better than me though!
grapefruit / 4213 posts
She looks like me which surprised us because my husband's genes are dominant.

People are saying DS1 looks more like DH, and DS2 looks more like me.

My husband is Italian and, if I have a girl, I pray she doesn't look like him.

@MrsMcD: I hope you hubby doesn't have an HB account!
DH and I are the same race (white) but I am Spanish and he is British. He is blond & blue eyed, I'm brunette with hazel eyes.
DD has dark blonde hair and blue eyes.

LO is 1/2 white and 1/2 Hispanic and she looks a lot like me with DH's dark hair and eyes. Her skin is almost as light as mine though -we will see how it tans when she's older.

@oliviaoblivia: Oh no ouch needed. He's such a handsome man and I just don't want a handsome daughter. And he isn't the type to have a HB account!

I think he looks more like his dad but definitely less so the older he gets. He doesn't look very Asian to me even tho he's half Taiwanese.

@stine_ciro: @wheres_c: Just wondering what you mean by Hispanic? I'm Hispanic, but my race is white. I always thought of Hispanic as a classification of culture not race.

LOs are 1/4 Korean and 3/4 white - they look totally like mini DHs, they have his medium brown hair color and blue/hazel eyes. Definitely don't look Asian unless you look close, they do have a small epicanthic fold.

My DS looks just like his daddy (irish/Czech), but with darker hair and a slight almond shaped eyes. I thought the Chinese features would be more dominate, but I am wrong.
I hope that the next LO will be a girl and look more like me.

She's half Korean and half white and looks like an Asian version of her Dad

Currently pregnant with #1 and I cannot WAIT to see what he or she looks like I am half Japanese and half German. DH is part Italian, English and German. He has blue eyes and blond hair. I have a lighter shade of brown eyes (lighter than most Asians) and brown hair. Very curious to see what genes this baby has

He looks like a miniature version of me although most people can tell he is mixed. A lot of people look at me questioningly when I tell them I'm 100% Chinese!
grapefruit / 4584 posts
LO is 1/4 Indian (from India, not Native American) from hubby's side...she looks like a bit of both of us but surprisingly has light hair like me. People who don't know us tend always to think she has a suntan and ask whether we've been on holiday! I'm interested to see whose hair/skin/eye color the second baby will get - in ultrasounds she looks like her sister!
pomelo / 5789 posts
@oliviaoblivia: I just asked my FI, I guess he considers himself white.....but then he always refers to himself as hispanic or spanish, so confusing! I learned something today.
I guess I thought our son was mixed race, but now I learned he's not? I guess I need to learn what race really means.
Sorry if I offended!

DS looks just like DH only he has my eyes (shape and color) and my god forsaken ears...

DD looks just like me! (She's 1/2 white 1/2 Chinese). And I'm secretly glad she looks more like me. I've always wanted a super Asian baby.
coconut / 8430 posts
My LO is half white and half Asian. She looks pretty mixed because she doesn't look like full Asian babies or like full white babies. I would say she looks slightly more on the Asian side based on other mixed Asian and white babies I've met!

I can't wait to see what my baby looks like! I'm currently pregnant and i am korean and DH is italian with brown hair and green eyes. I'm betting on the baby looking more asian though!

I'm white-Hispanic and my DH is Caucasian. So far LO is looking Caucasian but I hear (and hope) she'll darken up a bit if only to stop the "she doesn't look like your daughter" "are you the nanny" etc comments

I'm Hispanic and DH is Caucasian. People say DS looks just like him. DS has daddy's blonde hair and my brown eyes

Ds is 1/2 Mexican 1/2 Japanese. When he was born he was the spitting image Of hubs but now at 6 months he is my baby twin...people think he is a girl a lot but it doesn't bother me. He is slowly starting to look Asian again which I'm excited about..I want a little Asian baby with a nice tan!
pineapple / 12793 posts
@wheres_c: not offended at all. My MIL has made comments about her mixed granddaughter and it never occurred to me that DD was mixed. Just trying to figure out how the rest of the world thinks.

My two look like super super pale (almost see through)mini mes - almond eyes and Asian cheekbones, but with blonde/red hair and blue eyes like daddy. They're a 1/4 Chinese... 1/4 irish and 1/2 aussie. Most people wouldn't think they are Asian at all. But they do have rocking cheekbones!!
persimmon / 1085 posts
My son has his dad's face, features, looks like him, yet has very fair skin like me and light brown eyes and hair. We had thought he'd have darker skin! (husband is Indian and I'm white)
pomelo / 5073 posts
Lo is 1/4 Chinese and then a mix of other stuff. She has my almond shaped, dark eyes, but her cheeks and chin are her daddy's. she has light brown, red in the sun, hair! I have black hair and dh has brown hair. Sometimes she looks like my mini me, but most of the time it's a slightly Asian, girly, dark-eyed version of my husband.

@wheres_c: @oliviaoblivia: I was just having this conversation with my sister yesterday. It seems to me (just based on my experience) than many Caucasians in the US think of Hispanic/Latino as a race, while most South Americans think of it as a classification of culture, but neither definition does a very good job - I know a ton of people from all over South America that range in looks from pale skin and blond hair to very dark skin and black hair. I should have picked my words more carefully - but to clarify - DH has dark tan skin, black hair and eyes, and pretty much non-Caucasian features.

DD is 1/4 Korean and 3/4 European mutt. She doesn't look very Asian now (4 months), although she did when she was first born. I was hoping she would have dark Asian hair but it's actually lightening up quite a bit. We'll see if that changes as she gets older. She has hazel eyes so also not very Asian looking. But she does look a lot like DH who has the Korean genes. It'll be fun to see how her looks develop as she gets older!
