E has been pulling herself up to seated (and sometimes almost to standing, depending) and today gave me a huge scare when I saw her do it in the crib. Obviously, we moved it down immediately. She also crawled OFFICIALLY for the first time today! (Towards our pug, who ran away, which made her cry :silly:)
ETA- E is 6 1/2 months old
That being said, we put her in the crib sitting up to try it out after lowering it, and she freaked out, pulled up, stood like she was in jail, and then bumped her face and cried. Makes me worried that if she's pulling/sitting up and exploring her crib like the crazy-explorative girl she is, what if she pulls up and falls back (she is NOT good at balance yet just pulling) or bumps her head falling from sitting even? We have up breathable bumpers (all we're comfortable with because she likes to nuzzle them) but the ends are both solid panels. Seems like so much area for her to hurt herself!
Is there something I'm missing? Or is this just a rite of passage for kids becoming more mobile? Any advice?
