I read a lot that second time moms are worried that they won't love the next kid as much as the first. I never really had that since I had to equally love 2 kids at once. Now that I'm pregnant with another, I already love him or her so much! I really can see myself loving them all equally.
Mom of multiples, do you feel like you will love your next baby just as much as your twins or more?

I just have one, but sometimes I wonder how I will ever love my next as much as my first because she is so sweet and wonderful! Do all parents feel like this? I know I'm being silly and of course I'll love my second (and third?) just as much!

@delight: I think a lot of people feel that way initially, but when the baby comes, it's not hard to love them equally. Although from my experience, my friends seem to have a softer spot for the younger kid.

No twins but I worry about this! I think it's hard because number two wasn't planned so it's not as "wanted" although it's not unwanted! But I was a #2 baby so I think I will have a soft spot for the middle child.

Like you, I've never had the experience of having all my love focused on just one baby, and I love both of my boys more than I thought humanly possible. Having twins quickly taught me the truth in the sentiment that having more kids doesn't divide your love, but instead multiplies it. So, I don't worry at all about loving my next kid just as much!

@tequiero21: I worry about the opposite. DH has it in his head that Clomid (trying this next month) will give us twins. So he and I are already worried about the love because with E, I focused on JUST HIM and gave him everything. How will I focus on 2 at once?...plus my first child.
But, I know I will. And I am excited to one day have more than 1 child and experience that unconditional, unlimited, infinite love. -
It's been our choice, for many reasons, to only have one. But I do often think a second baby couldn't possibly measure up to my Meme. There's no way a second baby could be as cute and funny and smart and perfect as her.
All my friends with 2 assure me this is not the case. I believe them, but I'm sticking with my one and done.

I was a little worried about bonding and favoritism when I found out I was pregnant with twins. James was only 2 months old but I was still worried about showing love equally. Then we had Lilly and I just love them all. I have my oldest son, super cute twins boys and my little baby girl. They are all different and perfect and I can't explain the love I have for each of them. It's just magical.
