Have you been on a mom+dad-cation yet??
We're planning one for the end of March and I'm super psyched!! Lazy day at a hotel, watching TV or taking a nap. Dinner out to a non toddler friendly restaurant and hopefully a good brunch the next day!

That's awesome! Are you staying local or going somewhere far?
We haven't gone away together just the two of us since I was pregnant and it'd be tough to get DH to do it! Sounds heavenly though! Enjoy

We're kinda on one now. DS is on vacation with my parents and DH has been off work so this week we've been just spending time together and getting things accomplished this week.

Nope. My guess is we'll almost never get one of these b/c we have no family nearby to watch our daughter, and no friends who are just dying to watch our daughter overnight either. Maybe someday...

@skibobrown: once they get to school aged, you can send them to sleepovers. That's what my parents did.

Nope but one day when the kids are older we shall take a trip together!

Does going to an out of town wedding count? We're going to one next week while LO stays with my parents.

Not yet but in a week we are going to my husbands work conference in New Orleans for 4 days without T! He is tied up some of the days but we will have nice dinners out and I will read and enjoy the city and go to a spa!

Yes, we took a two-night trip to Boston in Nov when M was 11 months. She stayed with my parents for the weekend and we all had a great time! We're thinking of getting away to an island for a few days in the next couple of months.

@petunia354: HAHA nope! Like within an hour!
@skibobrown: aw hopefully soon! We had no family nearby for the first year of her life as well.

@locavore_mama: That's okay though, staying local is very stress-free!! So much easier

So jealous! We were so close to going on a long weekend trip to Puerto Rico, but we decided to redo our laundry room instead. Maybe we'll do a shorter driving vacation to a bed and breakfast or something.

That sounds like a great idea! We scheduled a vacay to Mexico with our LO before baby #2 comes but we could really use the time alone too!

Yes, we did one last month and went to a concert and stayed on a hotel while LO was with grandma and grandpa! We loved it and had an all day day date!

@petunia354: I don't think I/we can handle being further away the first time. hehe Just in case.
@looch: We're doing like a Groupon thing! Hotel + Food credit + Spa credit etc for under $150. LOL

Nope, we've discussed it and we would rather take all vacations together as a family.

We have done a few local over night stays when my mom comes into town!
We drove about 30 mins from where we lived and used reward points for the hotel (free - yay) and when we checked in the women said "oh and where are you driving in from tonight" She laughed when we told her.
It was great - we had a nice dinner and took a long walk. The next day we did some shopping and then headed home!

We haven't yet but in May we are going to Vegas for 5 days and leaving LO with my parents! We are celebrating turning 30! And enjoying a big vacation before we start TTC #2.

We kind of did. It wasn't specifically for a vacation, though, so it was a little hectic.
