If this pregnancy sticks R will be 16 months old when LO #2 is born. Did you worry about looking irresponsible to others? R is only 7 months old right now...but at least it's not Irish twins? Haha.

@swedishfish: First Congrats on your BFP! Second, don't worry about what other people think! I am due with lo #2 next month, making my boys 17 months apart. Dh and I wanted them close together so that's what we got! My mom had me and then my brother 15 months later.

@swedishfish: No one is going to think you are irresponsible! You aren't a 16-year-old single mom! My brother and sister are Irish twins and my parents never heard any negative comments about it.
R is going to be such a good big sister! Can you imagine how close they will be if you have another little girl?!

Mine will be just under 18 months apart! Everyone has told me it'll be hard at first but I'll love it!

I have a lot of friends with kids that close together and they all love it! They have all said the same thing - that the baby stage can be a little hectic, but then their children are so close and have so much fun together. I'm excited for more name posts!

Who cares what people think!!!my sister is 18 months older then me and my brother is 18 months younger then me. So imagine 3 under 3!
Congrats again! So happy for y'all. And I totally hope it is a girl so R and new baby can play dress up together.

My sister and I are 15 months apart and my parents never got any negative comments (that I know of!). My mom said that having me so close to my sister was the easiest transition of all the kids.
Congrats again! Call me crazy but these June mommas getting preggo is kind of giving me the fever!

I don't think anyone would think its irresponsible! My sister and I were two years apart and I would have loved to be even closer in age to her!

I don't think people will judge. I know a lot of families who have their LO's 18mths apart...it seems to be more common than waiting 2-3yrs between them.

Thanks for starting this thread! I've been consumed with these thoughts. DS will be 15 months when LO2 is born....

@rahlyrah: haha, no I'm not. I'm just a woman who assumed we didn't need protection because we were supposed to be infertile! How did your parents deal with 2 under 1?
@knittylady: I guess it works in the end for job hunting for me. I was either going to look for a new job at the end of this school year or next. Next, it is!

Congratulations! You can do it. I had twins, so 2 under 1. If I can do it, anyone can:)

You can do it! It's not as scary as it sounds!
Mine are 13.5 months apart and we've never gotten comments about it being irresponsible...just a lot of people asking if it was planned.

It sounds like most people have positive experiences. I have had many strangers make comments to me. When my son was only five months old and I was gigantically pregnant with twins I got a lot, and then when I was out with all three babies. I had people say things like oh I guess your husband couldn't wait the six weeks, or I hope your baby machine is turned off for awhile. I think you just have to have a thick skin when it comes to comments. Most people I know personally know we adopted and then got pregnant. So it was usually strangers and when that's the case I just try to remeber that I will most likely never see them again, and they have no idea what they are talking about.
And also congrats!! I am very happy for you.

@swedishfish: like @Running Elley: said, we got more asking if ours were planned, than saying we were irresponsible. Ours are 15 months apart, and we wouldn't have it any other way!! Congrats and you'll do great

Congrats! Mine are 16 months apart and I got lots of "you guys couldn't wait" and "was this planned" type comments. I love having them close in age!

@swedishfish: Congratulations!! I haven't been on HB much since my LO was born, but I just had to reply to your post! That is incredibly exciting and I'm so happy for you! I actually kinda hope the same thing happens to me… I'd be thrilled not have to go through IVF again ;).

@swedishfish: um..if it were up to my husband, I would already be pregnant again, too! So I think most people won't think twice about it.
And childless friends will have no clue about how hard it might be to have two, so they won't think twice about it either.

We will have two under 18 months and have gotten plenty of comments on it! But I've been pretty honest about it being a surprise. (Breastfeeding, no period, using PNP. I mean, obviously not the soundest BC but still pretty unlikely! .I don't tell people the last one though!)
Most of our friends say, "well, you are catholic!" Which really had nothing to do with it. I kind of wish there was something between "what a wonderful blessing!" and "you're crazy!" We are happy to have more children, but I sure wasnt ready. Which is why I guess I joke about it, to offset the anxiety I feel.

@jedeve: I've been wishing for that inbetween too! People will say, "congrats, right?" or "Congrats I guess??" And it's like, yeah I'm terrified and not ready, but I don't need to hear how hesitant everyone else is!!!!
