DH is one of the biggest feminists I know (as is my FIL), but he's weird about me getting DS any pink clothes (like polos and button down shirts) because he's a boy and they're too "girly".
Will you dress your son in stereotypical "girl" colors (pink, purple, yellow, for instance?)

I would, but that's because of hand me downs from my daughter. I probably wouldn't go out and buy pink clothes intentionally for him though - I don't think DH would be down for that either, but he's fine reusing old clothes.

I plan on it. Pink and red Polos and such look super cute on boys!
Tell your dh that real men wear pink! just kidding. Don't if it'll offend him.

I said other...cause at this point he's 5 and chooses all his own clothes. He wouldn't pick pink. In fact, I think he would get really offended if I even suggested that he wear pink, lol. Purple, too. He's got yellow shirts, though.

@Mrs. High Heels: I put my boy in some of DD's old newborn/infant stuff. We never leave the house so why not? 
I've seen boys in pink polos and red sweaters.. So cute!

@chopsuey119: I consider Red a gender-neutral color! I had to convince DH of that though because our play kitchen is red and so is DD's push buggy... haha. I agree pink polos look adorable on little boys!

I'm not against it in theory, we just don't look good in pink with our gingerish complexions. Other pastels are fair game though!

I would, but would hesitate on pink. But i hate pink anyway & wouldn't willingly dress a girl in pink either so...
Dude. If he wants to wear a glittery sparkly tutu and a tiara while having painted nails, go for it. I'm not here to impose any gender stereotypes or stifle him.

I think once they're past the age where you can't really tell if they're a girl or a boy then it's fine. When they're really little it is sort of an indicator so people can coo over your cute baby girl or baby boy, but if he's 2 and easy to tell he's a boy I think he'd look cute in a pink polo and boat shoes

@berdine: agree! I'm more concerned about gender stereotypes as he gets older. Pink and blue clothes to me are just a random social indicator.

Yes! I'm going to give it a few months though so he can look more like a boy. Even when dressed in blue, some people mistake him for a girl...all babies look alike,right

Nothing is off limits simply due to color, as far as I'm concerned. Though the more gender-neutral it is, the more "Oh, she's so cute!" I get, though. But it doesn't bother us. We just laugh.

I will, but if it's a polo or some type of shirt that has a bit of masculinity to it. I hate stereotypical gender roles, but I still want lo to look like a boy.

I think of red & yellow as gender neutral. I would dress them in pink & purple as long as the style wasn't feminine. I *think* DH would be okay with that, as long as it wasn't all the time.

I have a girl but I sometimes buy boyish stuff...and she doesn't have much hair and gets called a boy a lot so if I ever have a boy I'll probably go ahead and just dress him in whatever I like even if it's "girly." DH will probably be like your DH though!

Yes! I planned on it early on! I bought him a pink polo for this summer and DH likes it he was hesitant for sure but he saw it and really liked it.
He looks good in yellow and I'd love to see more boy clothes with yellow. I'm not a fan of purple so no on that, but not because it's "feminine".

@sera_87: this. I used to dress up my little brother in my dresses and pretend he was my little sister... Until he was about 8-9!!! He is a perfectly well adjusted very masculine adult
@berdine: true... I haven't dressed LO in pink this far, I just bought him his first pink polo and it will fit this summer, so he'll be we'll over 1.

I don't have a boy, but teenage boys seem to be all over neon pink and purple. So I think it's no big deal anymore? Just depends on the shade and the style. And his skin tone?

DH wouldn't let me 
and now that he's almost 4, he refuses to even draw with the color pink or purple let alone wear it.
