Yes! I usually ask DH once a week if he's called his mom this week. I encourage him to call her once a week. I see it so differently now that I'm a mom. I even made us go visit her last weekend which I would not have done before.

No, not call, but I do make sure we see her (and FIL) on a very regular basis, and when it's possible I give them time alone together. DH adores MIL (I do too)...he likes to say that he'd be a total Mama's boy if his dad wasn't so awesome (truth).

Yes! In fact, I just wrote my MIL a note about how much I value her and how she will always have a place in our lives and our children's lives. I'm all too aware that I have sons who will grow up and marry ladies who I really hope will love us and want us to be part of their lives. It's a little scary actually!

@Running Elley: I know this may sound crazy, but I've literally started praying for my not-even-6-month-olds' future wives. Hopefully, starting early will pay off!

No, we see/hear from her so often (pretty much daily) that I wish he'd call less like @HLK208: said. We get dropped in on unannounced quite often!

H already talks to his parents daily, lol. I do hope Lo follows in his footsteps with that!

@HLK208: So much word about giving in an inch and taking a mile. It's why I'm so reserved and careful about what information that she receives about us. I was kind of surprised DH wore his wedding ring to the family funeral he attended. He usually doesn't wear it. It's cool with me. But, for a visit to his family wearing his wedding ring is almost an act of defiance against my MIL to illustrate that he's married with a kid. Huge!
