I've been absent for a while. I had my b/g twins in December for 2013. I see a few other mom's on the boards are expecting multiples & I glad to see I'm not alone!

We found out we are expecting 3 days after my kids turned one and just found out this weekend, after a trip to the ER, that we are expecting twins again! I am 6 weeks 1 day today!

We live in the Midwest & we have 5 generations of hair twister in our family.

Fun fact: My kids were part of a rash of kiddos born- we knew 6 babies born within 6 weeks of each other.

Oh my gosh, wow. Excuse me while I go take all my birth control pills.

fun fact: my whole family has been waiting for the twins to come since it runs in our family. So when anyone got pregnant we always checked and I laughed when they asked me and 2 weeks later there were 2 HBs!

@meganmp: my kids last year they were 2 of 5 born in the family & will be 2 out of 6 this year! So many babies & showers to attend lol

@Shutterbug: thanks for thinking of me we have a Honda Odyssey...it will do for now lol my big kids will still be rear facing at that point so it will be a PITA!

@MrsKoala: thanks I've thought about you & our other ladies a ton but never took the time to check in. So much happened this last year! It went by way to fast.

@twodoghouse: LoL Congrats to you & your sister! Mine were spontaneous! My husband better get all the sex he wants now cause I'm shutting down the factory for a couple years after this lol.

@BabyMats: that's awesome! How old is your oldest? My family joke about when we were bringing cupcakes again (it's how we announced our last set with two Swedish Fish on top) we did just that this weekend & no one wanted to believe us lol.

@Mrs. Blue: your 3 under 2 is impressive! I may have to look at you for some pointers! All I know right now is I'm praying they stay in their cribs till they are 3! I do not want to deal with newborns & toddlers in toddler beds!

@Sugar.Biscuit: people kept asking me if we were going to move the twins to toddler beds, and my standard answer is, "We plan to move them to real beds when they're about 15."

@sugar.biscuit: So glad to see you posting on here again! I can't believe you're doing two sets of twins under 2! Here I was freaking out about having 3 under 2.

Location: Oregon

Number of kids: 3 (18 month ds and twins due soon)

EDD if pregnant: April 11 is my due date but my c-section is scheduled for March 30th if they don't come before then.

Fun fact: I have half brothers who are twins (via IVF for my dad and stepmom) and DH has fraternal twin brothers but there are absolutely no twins in my maternal side of the family. To have had IF and an IUI with my first and then spontaneously end up with twins this time around while NTNP was one wacky miracle.

@Sugar.Biscuit: congrats and good luck two sets of twins is crazy. but sounds super fun. We have an odyssey and we had three backwards facing seats. It was a pain butt but we survived. We may have bumped the kids heads a few times but that's our little secret.

EDD: heck no, no more being pregnant. I would love to adopt again but I am done with pregnancy.
fun fact: there are absolutely no twins in my family that I am aware of then I had a bunch of failed IF treatments. A year after all that and BAM twins with no treatments. WEIRD!!

@marionberry: I think I creeped on one of the due date boards & saw your nursery with two cribs! That's what got me to post this. Congratulations! I ready through some of your previous post...you had quite a journey those first few weeks! I'm so glad things have worked out for you! If you have any questions please ask! @Mrs. Blue: haha love it. Have you had your lo yet? I tired to catch up on some of you ladies but it's hard to keep track with all the different threads lol.

I've been intimidated by the idea of going to Target with all 4 kids by myself. Not because I would have all 4 kids but because of the attention it draws! I have smacked hands before to get people to stop touching my kids. Lol

@Sugar.Biscuit: Three days past my due date and still waiting! I cannot imagine dealing with the attention of two sets of twins. I know people are curious, but it gets old really fast when you're jut trying to run a quick errand!

@Sugar.Biscuit: Four kids does get you tons of attention, stares, questions, unsolicited advice, and people who think that you have time to listen. Target is like navigating a mine field. You can do it though. I promise eventually you will get used to it.

@Sugar.Biscuit: I will have many questions, this I know! I'm still really wondering how to do normal things for two at a time (breastfeeding, carrying them, etc.) and even my daycare provider brought up the issue yesterday of how am I going to bring my kids in since there will be 3 of them and 2 of me. I know I'll figure it out, but it's a bit overwhelming. Did you ever feel scared about having the twins and honestly was it as bad as you thought it would be (financially, with lack of sleep, etc.)? Are you freaking at all about having 2 sets of them now or do you feel like a pro who can tackle this once again?

@marionberry: the football hold will become your favorite. Learn to tandem & if you have NICU time ask your nurses for tips! Learn to babywear! Find a local IBW group & become BFF's with their tandem wearing expect. Your arms will get buff! Times were crazy at first. Start getting babies ready for a feeding about 10 before feeding time so you don't have crazy angry babies. At times I had to put one in the ergo while I changed the other.

I was never really scared about it because I just accepted what God gave us & went with it.

Financially...well breastfeed didn't go well for us so we supplemented with a lot of formula. Lots of ready to feed Alimentum. Because the ready to feed doesn't have corn & my kids both had MSIP & Coen intolerances $22 a day on formula until they were 10 months old & finally grew out of it.

Sleep... I didn't sleep. I went 36 hours one to many times without sleep. Set up help. Call your church for meals. We finally hired a nanny for 12 hrs a week from 7-12 weeks. It was a huge help! My kids ended up STTN by 9 weeks! Keep them on the same schedule if you can.

I am nervous. We will use our church's meal ministry this time so that will help as well as hire a nanny for a few months. I'm going to push harder this time to breastfeed & will be able to relax better with the extra help. I didn't have much help those first few weeks & it killed my supply!

You will figure out a way to make it all work because you are a super mom. The good thing is If you have a shitty day you get to try it all over again & babies are very forgiving!
