Moms who charted to avoid pregnancy post-partum, when did you resume? I'm 6 months PP and probably ought to start. I know DH would like to ditch the condoms.

I started 6 weeks PP. I'd want to catch the ovulation before the first AF, so I wouldn't wait until then.
ETA: LO is 6.5 months and EBF.

Related question, does one need to chart if on the mini pill and breastfeeding?

I took the mini pill for 5 months but I decided to stop because I couldn't remember to take it at the same time. I charted my first cycle off the pill and I thought my fertile period was over but now I have an eight week old and a toddler.

@plantains: I don't think you CAN chart if you are on the mini pill-- the hormones would screw up any readings/trends.
Haven't had my baby yet, but I can't see charting until my sleep is regular (baby STTN), so who knows when I'll be able to again.

Due in less than a week, and was charting. It was definitely an off month.

@hilsy85: We charted to prevent for 18 months with no scares, got preggo our first month trying, had a MC, took 6 cycles of trying once we got to go-ahead. Charting to prevent seems to work for us.

I started check my signs so I can notice them once they occur and to set up a new basic infertile pattern if needed. I also wanted to catch ovulation if possible. No cycle return yet, and I also haven't started officially writing on my chart again. If you want to avoid, make sure to start charting as soon as you notice any CM or wet, moist, etc vaginal sensations. Cycles can also be really weird coming back postpartum, because your body tries to ovulate, but sometimes doesn't make it, tries again, etc. You can also have weird luteal phases. The Couple to Couple league has a postpartum guide that goes over return to fertility.
