We are visiting Montreal in two weeks. We'll be there for a week. Any recommendations for what to do/see from locals or bees who are familiar with the city? It will be me, DH and our 17 month old son.

i could probably write tons because I grew up in Montreal, but I am about to go to bed
off the top of my bed, i suggest the Botanical Gardens, and the Biodome!
Walking around Old Montreal and the Old Port is super nice in the summer.
Montreal is also known for all the restaurants where you can sit out on the terrace. - Crescent Street, Prince Arthur and Duluth are good streets for finding restaurants like this - lots are bring your own wine which makes it even better
A trip to St. Viateur Bagels is a must! And then walking around that neighborhood is fun too - "the plateau". Parc Mont Royal is nice too and in that area..,,stop by on Sunday afternoon and you can enjoy the "tam tams"
okay, that is all i got for now...have fun! And feel free to wall me with any questions

I recall thinking Vieux Montreal was cute when I went. I also liked "hiking" up to the top of Mount Royal. IIRC, McGill University is nearby.
If you are driving, be careful of Montreal drivers. They are crazy and aggressive!!!! If you're taking transit, there used to be a daypass that was useful.

Bio dome for sure!!! And shopping, go to Simon's! It's my favourite big store in Montreal.

@sslm: @californiadreams: Thanks for the suggestions. The Biodome looks amazing!
@sunny: Good to know about Montreal drivers. We'll be staying in one apartment for the whole week and are planning on just walking/using transit, so we'll check out the day passes.
