So, when we decided not to prevent pregnancy I thought it would be a long time before we had any results due to a family history of fertility issues. We didn't. We knew we'd be moving in the future, but thought it'd be late summer - so it wasn't a big deal to imagine moving in the late trimester.

Fast forward to now - I am 33 weeks and we finally have the final word of where my husband's next job is! It's with the same company, so there is flexibility on when he starts and they know I'm due in late November but.. wow.

There is no way we're going to try and find a temporary spot and organize movers, etc. etc. being this close to the due date (my OB said she didn't recommend switching or traveling after 34 weeks). SO that means we'll be moving with a newborn!

Anyone have any advice or who has survived? How young was your baby when you moved? Fortunately his work will provide professional movers - so I don't really have to worry about packing but am overwhelmed at the idea of driving 6 hours with a tiny, tiny baby in winter while we're figuring out breast feeding and I'm recovering from delivery. Our current lease goes through the end of December, so if I were to go to 42 weeks (ACK please no) we'd be moving when baby was 3 weeks old.

Wow this is a novel. Sorry!
