Think salad with veggies and a balsamic dressing would be safe ? That's the only thing I can think of !

I always got steak w/ unseasoned veggies & a house salad no cheese or croutons w/ balsamic vinaigrette (the citrus lime at chilis is safe too).
Chilis (again) Margarita Chicken is dairy free w/o the tortilla strips
Most restaurants have allergen menus on their websites too!!!

I mostly didn't... but if you do, look for restaurants with vegan options and who list all their ingredients or have them available on request.

I have had the best luck sticking with national chains- Applebees and Chili's probably the best. They have menus available and list their ingredients. If you have a local place you trust make sure you ask them to check every label. My dad owns restaurants and when we eat there he offers stuff he thinks won't have dairy-I make him check labels and low and behold it has dairy.
We don't eat out much because I am not sure people really take the time to check labels. We do build your own stir fry where they cook it right in front of you (HuHot), but I am only non-dairy so you might have a hard time with soy.

I didn't eat anywhere but home when I cut dairy and soy. Was too hard to know for sure!

I cut out cows milk, eggs and gluten. Eating out is complicated but not impossible. I eat a lot of fresh fruit, veggies, and meat.

We went to Unos tonight and the staff was awesome I looked up everythig before hand and the manager even double checked everything in the kitchen for me. I love having servers with allergies in ther family because they *get* it:)

I liked ones that had allergen menus online. We haven't had good luck with Applebee's (almost everything has soy). Chipotle is amazing, CPK was good for us, bjs brew house and yard house had knowledgeable people. The biggest thing I've run into is not having enough food available without soy. Often they don't split out oils and protein.

I've had luck with Mexican food- a lot of things can be made without cheese and mostly there's no hidden dairy. I've also been getting a lot of fish.
