When did you give your LO Mum-mums for the first time?

Haven't yet, she's 7 months old. I don't love that they have sugar in them so that's the main reason. They also say that they may contain traces of milk, and she is dairy protein intolerant so I just stay away at this point.
I think they are safe for 6 mos and up though.

Between 5-6 months when we started trying solids with him. No problems for us with them, and I just give them out when we need him kept busy like when we go to dinner and he gets restless.
I do like that they dissolve quickly and are not as easy to choke on.

@prettylizy: Really? They have sugar in them? Now I need to go look at the package. Shame on me for not reading the ingredients before. I started DD w/ mum mums this week (she's 6.5 months old), and she did great with them. She liked feeding herself, which makes me think it's time to go back to baby-led weaning. We tried to do BLW originally, but I found that DD does much better with purees for the time being. She loves eating out of her spoon, but the mum mums were a big hit too!

@skibobrown: because of her allergy I've gotten really diligent about reading labels and sometimes I'm amazed what they put in food for babies.

@prettylizy: @skibobrown: that's why i'm reluctant to give her mum-mums or cheerios, even though all of my friends have asked if i've given her any yet. have you tried kamut puffs from nature's path? no sugar/salt and nutritious!

@caffeinated: I've been looking for a snack like that, but we're going gluten free for her for at least her first 2 years due to family history and her already sensitive digestive system. I had to google to see if Kamut had gluten, apparently is does

@prettylizy: that's too bad. they also have millet puffs which are gluten free, but they look so tiny...i wasn't sure if LO would be able to pinch any with her hands. Although i quickly did some research and saw that a lot of companies will put in a disclaimer that it's not gluten-free due to possible cross contamination (a warning for celiacs, i suppose).

We tried around 6 months, but they constipated him and I didn't really like the ingredient list once I checked it out, so it was a short lived phase.

We haven't given her mum mums but I started giving her Gerber puffs when she was 7 months old. She loves them!

7 months maybe? Then I bought an entire case off amazon, which at 13 months we're just finishing. They're a good thing to have around in your purse when you're just trying to keep a child happy for a moment. They're not really food.

Our ped recommended Cheerios over mum-mums since Cheerios have a better nutritional value. DS is 7 months, ill probably try them out sometime in the next month.

I never did since they don't really have any nutritional value and they are made in China.
