Sorry My mom and sister did that and it would irk me.

My sister has started doing it. I just reply "your baby"? and she corrects herself. I know there's no harm meant but she's not carrying this baby and dealing with everything I've dealt with during this pregnancy.

My grandmother calls us "her children" and I can tell it bothers my mom. I hope she'll remember how it feels and not call Woog her baby, because that would seriously annoy me.

Sorry it bothers me when some people do it like MIL. I told her about it and she stopped saying it (at least around me). Now, my mom says it occasionally but it doesn't bother me.

My mom does this. I think it's so sweet and I love how much she loves her granddaughter!

Yeah but I think it's cute! I guess because we don't have a ton of family nearby... If MIL said "give me my baby" that would annoy me, but she usually says things more along the lines of "our baby is so good" and "that's my c!" or "aw my little baby!"...nothing that implies that she>me&dh. My parents on the other hand, say "give me my baby" and I'm fine with it! They even jokingly call me the nanny...but just in a way that's like "we love c so much! we want to be with her as much as possible" rather than "she's MINE and only MINE!" I guess it just depends how it's said.

@googly-eyes: I totally agree! it's how they say it (or who says it, if you just know their intent). no one really says it in my family, but if my side did it wouldn't drive me nuts..other side, though, oy. lol.

It annoys me when MIL says it but not when my mom says it. I know, I know... Double standard.

Wow!! I can't believe how tech savvy she is!
It's common for Korean to say "our baby" so it doesn't bother me..
DH's bff calls the kids "his babies" haha and it doesn't bug me

My FIL does say "my baby", but I don't mind it. He just loves our DD so much!

I vented about this recently too! My MIL does it. I've told her I didn't like it. I've given her snarky responses. She is still doing it. Pissesme off to no end.
