I had both. I started off with the My Brest Friend since it's the #1 lactation consultant recommended nursing pillow, but for long term use, I preferred the Boppy. It's softer and Olive falls asleep on it.. so much so that I'm taking it with me on our trip, because I know she will sleep on it on the plane!

I was torn on which to buy, but I ended up buying the boppy and we love it. I dont use it for nursing anymore but LO naps in it every day

I like both. I started off with the Boppy and found that it was awkward for me to use while breastfeeding LO when she was a newborn so I got the Brest Friend. Brest Friend was heaven sent in those first days of struggling with breastfeeding and LO being at the breast often and for long periods of time.
But now that she's bigger, the Boppy is perfect, like @Mrs. Bee: said it's better for the longterm. It's also a great spot for her to nap and rest in.

I already have a Brest Friend from my best friend. And I registered for a bobby. My friend told me they are both necessary as she loves the Brest Friend for nursing but the Bobby is great for napping and just snuggling baby in to when you can't hold him/her.

Anybody have a Gia nursing pillow? I've heard good things about that one, but it doesn't seem like a lot of people have it.

I didn't like how hard the my brest friend was so I never bothered. I have a boppy and love it. Although I wish it was inclined. And I'm pretty sure my husband deformed it by using it as a pillow sometimes! haha

I started off w/the Boppy but found the Brest Friend worked out better for us. I don't know, maybe I'm too tall for the Boppy (I'm only 5'6"), but I always felt like I was hunched over and it hurt my back.

have both and brest friend is SO much better for twins lol. i also like that it was firmer. i couldn't get a good position on the boppy - i actually liked it more for other uses (helping kids sit up, tummy time, etc)...

Like @Mrs. Bee: I started out with the Brest Friend and preferred it for the first 10 weeks or so when LO was itty bitty and took forever to nurse. Then I switched to the Boppy and stopped using the Brest Friend...i liked not having to strap myself in...it's just easier to use and I didn't need the extra support once LO was bigger and feeding more efficiently. LO is almost 9 months and I still use the Boppy for every feeding at home...I love it!!

I only got the Boppy but it worked well for us from the get go and we still use it for basically every nursing session at home. I am tall but it seemed to work to have it partially supported on the arms of the glider so that the position was comfortable. I also liked that it was more versatile for other things like tummy time and propping.

@mrs. bird: I loved the Gia! It definitely puts the baby at a more comfortable height/position compared with the Boppy and I liked the slope, too (supposedly aids with digestion/combats reflux).

I have the Breast Friend and hated it. The back part actually hurt my back and I hated having to strap in. I've actually thought about just chopping off the back part because I like the part the baby rests on. And I'm too cheap to buy a boppy!

I only had the boppy but didn't get it until DD was almost a month old (shower gift that had some shipping problems); wished I had it all along once we did have it. I am so excited to have it from the start with LO#2 and plan to take it to the hospital.

I had both and hated them both. I ended up using neither. If I needed to prop while feeding, a regular pillow worked great.

I have a boppy, a Brest Friend and two boomerang shaped pillows. Yes, I have four BF pillows! LOL
I prefer the boomerang shaped ones as they are easier to maneuver around.

Don't have the brest friend but I LOVE the boppy. If you are traveling get the travel boppy too - it folds and zips up like a bag. I was almost not going to get it but it was a lifesaver. When we were out and about or on the plane it easily folds up and looks just like a regular bag, and when we were just hanging out at the hotel we put the boppy inside a regular boppy cover and it looks and functions just like a regular boppy. Oh love it.

@Mrs. Bee: Yes I do! I highly recommend it. I can't imagine having a full boppy on the plane when you are crammed with the diaper bag, hand carry luggage and all, and on top of that having to carry a baby in and out of the plane. I don't know how I would have survived my trip if I didn't have it.

@Mrs. Bee: Remember to bring a regular boppy cover too. All that traveling gets the boppy dirty and I don't think you'd want to wash the whole pillow while you are on the trip (there is no way to take off the cover of the pillow to wash, you'll have to wash the whole thing as is. FYI I washed it after I got back home and it held up well). So when you are at the hotel put the boppy into the cover - it feels just like home

I have both and I started out with just the Boppy because all my friends had one. It never occurred to me to get a Brest Friend since I figured I was covered but I had such a difficult time breastfeeding my newborn on the Boppy that I caved and got the Brest Friend, and I swear, it was like the heavens opened up for me! It was so much easier to use, more comfortable, and I could even get up and walk with the baby on it (while holding onto the pillow, of course!) I don't regret purchasing the Boppy (I got it used) because it will serve its purpose in the future when my baby is larger, but for now, I love the Brest Friend and would recommend it to all my friends in the beginning!

I registered for both because I heard MBF was better for breast feeding and I've liked boppys to prop babies in for play time.
